Hi all,

I want to tell my immigration story and maybe I can help somebody:

I am married from 1995 with my actual wife.

In 1999 my wife won the USA Lottery visa. Due to some problems we had at that time, only my wife obtained the green card in 2000.

She moved to USA in 2000.

I am a Canadian citizen and in 2004 I obtained TN status and kept TN status until now.

In 2004 after a few months in USA I reunited with my wife and we started to rebuild our relationship.

In 2008 my wife got the US citizenship.

In 2009 we had our first baby.

In January 2012 I applied for AOS (based on marriage with US citizen) and I just had the interview last week (April 2012).

Until 2012 I had the TN status for about 8 years.

I was approved for green card last week.

So, the whole process took about 3 months.

I used this post to prepare the whole package:

At the interview :

We had a very nice lady IO . She swore us in and got right down to it.

She asked us for our driver's licenses, then asked me for my current address and my birthday and my wife birthday.

She asked me for my passport and took my I-94 and stapled it to our file.

She asked for evidence that we were building a life together. We produced home mortgage papers and property taxes under both names.

We showed some recent pictures.

The lady asked us how did we meet.

She asked me the usual questions about terrorism and arrests.

She then said I am approved for green card.

The whole process took 5 minutes.

No questions about TN status, immigration intent or anything that may scare a TN status from doing marriage AOS .

I want to thank everybody that put his story on the forum. It helps a lot ...

Congratulations! Sounds like you had a pretty straightforward process. A long marriage + baby means they have no reason to question your bona fides. The TN and immigration intent is rarely an issue if everything else is in order.
