The USPS requirement is less than 20 pounds and the box is 12" x 12" x 5-1/2"

As a proud Ijebu tribalman (a tribe known for their frugality) I represented my tribe very well by making sure that I tipped in at 19.9 pounds

She said the box did not appear pre opened (I assumed they would use some sort of XRay device). It was all there, mainly clothes, jewelry, shoes, bags, wedding magazine, copy of the I-129F, etc

She actually got a text on her phone earlier in the day that she had a paackage but she did not look at her phone until after she had picked it up (so they do indeed send text messages).

My comfort/confidence level is rather high so I will start preparing the next package

Well thank u for the great info. Wow 20 lbs for $60 that is good news. My husband needs this ASAP. So your frugalness has blessed us. Dalu

LOL I saw the name and thought my husband sent this to me. Thanks for the information. I have two big packages One is 53 lbs yikes. But $248 really isn't bad price. Appreciate it.

Thank God I found this topic, because I wanted to send my boyfriend a laptop. When check fedex and Ups, the price was rediculous. So I think I will try this it with company..

I sent a 13 lb package to my hubby (Visa documentation stuff) through USPS - Express Mail International, and it cost me $170.00. It was supposed to get there in 3-5 business days and it took something like 14 days, but he did get it. I believe it was held up in customs. I also put on the outside of the box in big bold red & yellow letters for them to "hold the package for the recipient pickup", and my hubby said they texted him when it arrived at the post office.

The same box sent via DHL/FedEx would have cost me anywhere from $400-800.

I have a question? What about shipping it to Abuja? How safe is that going to be?

In my opinion, just buy a basic no frills metbook from WalMart ~$200, package it well and I am sure it'll get there safely.

Abuja should be even a safer bet than Ibadan.
