Travel while petitioning /applying for K-1

Hi there! I am a USC and I want to start petitioning for my British fiance to come over on the K-1. Just wondering if we will be able to visit each other while this process is taking place? (will I be able to enter UK on a tourist visa? would he be able to come over on the VWP?)

If you are going to visit him in the UK you should be able to enter with no problems, you won't need a tourist visa if you are an american citizen.

As for him, he should be able to enter the US on the VWP as long as he brings along some proofs of ties back home, as well as a return ticket. He might not be asked to show them unless they think he might be entering with the intention to stay.

I just came to the US for a visit and I got asked a few questions but they let me in. Still here, leaving on monday (sad times!).

They might be a bit more suspicious if the visit will be for the whole 90 days but if he has proofs of going back home (I brought a copy of the NOA1 to show in case) shouldn't be a problem, altho its all up to who he finds at the desk!

My fiance and his boys just headed back to the UK after 2 weeks here for Easter. They landed at Boston. Officer asked if it was a holiday. He said yes. How long? Two weeks. Have a nice trip They didn't even want proof that he could take his boys out of the country.

I've visited my fiance twice since we applied for the visa.. Second visit connected in Vancouver and I did get drilled a bit more than I do at Calgary (asked who was moving, when was our wedding, what are our jobs, last visit date, etc, and also reminded me that an overstay would mess with getting a green card). Possibly a Vancouver thing but it may have also been because I was really nervous and briefly messed up a couple of questions as a result. But you can still visit. However, it's up to the discretion of the officer interviewing you as to whether you'll be allowed into the United States or not. I brought my work contract and HR time off request as proof of ties, but ended up not having to show anything.
