Has anyone gotten a NVC case number from the NVC today for approved cases from the CSC?

If you get a NVC case number, and used the CSC please post in here for 10/10/06 to 10/13/06. This also includes emails from the NVC.

The cases from early Sep are not even there yet...forget about mid to late Sep....

We got our NVC case number today. Actually they have sent the case to Italy on Oct 5.

Last week when I called and in the email they told me they did not have the case there.

I dont understand what the holdup is now either. To my memory, all the approvals from late August went directly to the NVC where they lingered only a day or so. Now, those of us with early September approvals are still in LIMBO???? I really just dont get it!

I got email today from NVC stated

" Your inquiry indicates that the approved petition has been forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC) for processing. Unfortunately the NVC has not yet received this petition from CIS (Citizenship and Immigration Services).

Hey, have you tried calling or emailing them yet? With the way things are going over there I won't even bother trying to contact them until after our fourth week.

Yeah I was thinking the samething that it is going to take us till our fourth week. Anyways even though that seems true I did send an email to the NVC last night on Tuesday. So lets see what happens..

I'm thinking a big batch has got to be on its way.

I have not received any letter from the NVC yet confirming that they received my case, but both my I-130 and I-129F were approved at CSC within a week of each other. I called the NVC automated system, entered the receipt # from my NOA2 for the I-130 (its the WAC, LIN, or SRC #) and was able to retrieve the NVC case # assigned for my I-130. Since its only been two weeks since they received my case, I will give them a little more time before I send them email asking about status. Hope that helps.

I just got off the phone with an agent at the USCIS (G8535 Shannon) and she told me that ALL I-129F petitions that are NOT filed in conjunction with an I-130 are mailed directly to the embassy or consulate. She said as of late last year, they DO NOT go to the NVC.

When I asked about the wording on the NOA2, she said it simply has not been changed yet to reflect this. I asked if she was 100% sure and she said YES….

Today is two weeks for me since NOA2. I know most of you are longer. This whole process from day one is nothing but a cluster f---. I mean lick a stamp, raise the flag on the mailbox, and mail the d--- thing. I'll send you $5 for the postage.

Good luck to all. I don't really think the threads about petitions going straight to the embassies are correct. Government will always add steps, never remove them. My NOA2 states it was forwarded to the embassy but I think that is just a standard form.

Again good luck to all. Hopefully we will all have our significant other here for Christmas.

If your NOA2 says that the petition was forwarded directly to the embassy, then that is where it went. If your NOA2 says that it was sent to the NVC, then that is where it went. SOME petitions are being sent directly to the conulates overseas, but most it seems are still going through NVC. Not everyone's NOA2's are worded exactly the same way, so take a second look and see what yours says. Good luck everybody!!!

For the most part everyone's approved case goes to the NVC!! Unless your NOA2 says that your approved case will be sent directly to the embassy.

It seems like it is better for your case to go to the NVC then to the embassy directly because the CSC is not smart enough to give u a tracking number or some type case number to track it. Also there seems to be a very high rate that your case could get loss at which point your in big trouble because the CSC is useless and won't be of any help, and even if you used a lawyer there does seem to be much they can do because the CSC is such a pain to deal with.
