So I got a RFE on my K1 visa petition at 4/16/12.

I got the hard copy today and it ended up being I missed question #2

"Have you been convicted or court marshalled before?" (not the exact quote)

I could swear I answered this question as I doubled checked and triple checked my application.

I mean I filled applications (general applications not K1) plenty of times before and this question is

something I take seriously due to the consequences.

I was glad however if was not something more time consuming I missed such as more relationship evidence.

I answered this question immediately and mailed it certified

during my lunch break today.

I do however have several questions for you good VJ folks

1. Can I potentially get another RFE for unrelated issues (such as requiring more evidence)?

2. Does the nature of RFE have significant affection on the delay?

i.e. Missing a single question compare to missing evidence of relationship/meeting in past 2 years

Million things were going through my head at the time of RFE notice (email).

I am sort of glad it was not something more complicated and that they are

indeed looking at my petition. I'm hoping I'll hear from USCIS with good new soon.

Thanks a lot in advance!

K1

Yes you can still get another RFE. An RFE can happen all the way up to even at or after an interview.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

I received an RFE because I sent in the wrong document (Divorce Petition instead of Final Divorce Decree) and I can tell you that this small mistake cost me 2 months. 1 week to get the RFE letter, 1 week for them to recieve my response and the entire 6 weeks for them to finally approve my petition.

I was like you, before I got the RFE letter I was so very nervous and started 2nd guessing myself as to what I missed, overlooked or forgot. Even though you could still get another RFE try to relax and be confident that you have fulfilled this specific requirement.

One step at a time and at this point, you are definately one step closer!

Good Luck!

I got an RFE on March 17 for the same reason ?? so so frustrating. Does anyone have any idea of the processing times for these sort of situations?! We've been waiting since October.

Welcome to the forum.

Using the site's Google Custom Search for "RFE" would show the myriad of RFEs and the variable number of days necessary for RFE resolution. This is a very frequent topic in the forum.

:time: so that everyone can understand what you have been waiting for.....

Good luck on your visa journey.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)
