Hi all,

I am confused about police check.

1.Does NVC provide a list to tell me how many police checks they require?

If not, is counting from in the past 5 years(how to count the 5 years? from application submission date

or from the time I receive their request? ) or when I was 16?

2.If they require police checks that start from when I was 16 then

my problem is I need a Vietnam police check because I lived there near 2 years.

My situation is the same as this person:

But he did not update how he obtained a Vietnam police check.

And I also read the line talking about police checks from NVC website.

information as below:

Foreigners who reside or resided in Vietnam should contact the Vietnamese Department of Immigration in the district in which they currently reside/formerly resided to request the "Justice Record Check.

However,I don't know how to contact Vietnamese Department of Immigration in the district in which I formerly resided to request the "Justice Record Check.

Because where I lived was very countryside, and I don't speak Vietnamese at all. :(

Whom should I contact with?

Please help me and thank you for your help.

I would start by contacting the Vietnamese Embassy in the country you reside. They should be able to steer you in the right direction.

I would start by contacting the Vietnamese Embassy in the country you reside. They should be able to steer you in the right direction.

I know when I had to get my criminal record check to get married in Vietnam we had to go to a building called So Tu Phap in Ho Chi Minh City. The whole process of getting married on paper actually took place there. Starting with the embassy in Australia would definitely be a great start. Good luck to ya!!

I have contacted Vietnamese Embassy in Australia.

However, they did not answer my questions directly just gave me some general information.

They only told me how my friend could help me to apply for it. And how much I should pay certified a copy of my passport and a authoritarian letter from me.

But where should my friend go and whom should my friend contact? :help:

Because I worked at Dong Nai,not in Ho Chi Minh city.

I just want to know that my temporary residence card is expired 6 years ago and I lost it.

If it's possible to apply for a police check without the card, I would not mind even if I fly back to Vietnam for it. :(

Vietnamese Police Check is really a nightmare! :crying:

I've contacted Vietnamese Embassy in Australia.

The result is I need some one to apply for me :(

I left there six year ago and lost contacts.

Although,I know some people,who are still working there.

But they are not Vietnamese and don't understand Vietnamese.

How can I do ? I don't know how to get a Vietnamese police check!

And who can apply it for me??

None will take a few days off just help you :bonk:
