Hey guys, I'm just wondering should I call the NVC at this point as I'm waiting over a month to hear back from them after my NOA2, would it do any good or will they just tell me to wait some more? I have already emailed them but apart from an automated response I haven't heard back yet. Also since I can't really afford to call America is ot ok for my mother in law in the States to inquire on my behalf? Thanks for any help, starting to wonder what the delay is now.

The petitioner should call them. Is your wife not in the US now? I never received anything from the NVC after the K1 NOA2 was issued for my now wife. I had to keep calling then get the number via the phone. With this she was able to set up her interview and appointment. I'm not sure if the NVC automatically sets up appointments for Ireland or not. Its rather country specific if the NVC sets up the interview or if the beneficiary needs to set it up. Also they will not talk with third parties about your case, unless they were specifically authorized as agents by you previously. When my wife was adjusting status and I called for her, and they had to get permission from my wife to talk for me plus then they wanted to refer to me as the translator.

Thanks for the info, my wife is currently with me in Ireland, I kind of figured that they might have to chat to us directly, hopefully we will just hear from them soon.

Have you made any contact with other's coming from Ireland? After the NOA2, everything starts to get pretty country specific. I never once received a letter from the NVC stating they had forwarded my wife's case to the embassy. She never received anything in her country either. Without me calling, we could have waited until the approved petition expired. I wonder if your mother-in-law could call and hope they assume she's the petitioner? If I recall correctly though, they do ask who you are and some other questions to verify identity. The NVC basically runs some checks and has to forward it to the embassy, can you call the embassy there to see if its received yet?

K1 and IR1/CR1 processes are vastly different at NVC. The above advice is more pertinent to K1. For IR1/CR1 there are quite a few steps at NVC to be completed so you will need to follow up and stay on top of things.

I have been waiting for quite some while. My NOA2 date was 3/23/12. There are a few who have not received their case numbers. I was instructed to send an email to nvcresearch@state.gov with a scanned copy of the approval notice. they responded back with that they have not received the case yet.

Just wanted to give a quick update, I received a reply to the email I sent to the NVC, but all they said was that they had received the petition recently and it would take 6 to 8 weeks to further process before I am sent more instructions. I really hope it doesn't take that long!

well, you could have the USCitizen Petitioner find the NVC April 2012 thread, then study all in post #1, as the stuff she needs to do (not the beneficiary) is covered there.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
