Please forgive me if this topic already exists but I looked and could not find it. Just had a horrible experience with my current attorney. Literally 24 hours after confirming the plan for submission of packet 3 and the 601 waiver we will need to submit at our consular interview in Rio (Brazil), I was informed that my lawyers had left the firm. The paralegal told me he was leaving too and the head of the firm had not done a waiver in many years. Needless to say, my money is gone. They are located in NM and we live in NY. (Long story of how I ended up with them but they seemed highly reputable at the time...) I have no idea how to search for and find an attorney with a proven success rate in I601 filing. I know about Lizz Cannon and Laurel Scott but I would like to see someone in person this time so am looking in the NYC area.

Thanks everyone!

Well you were hav ebeen given excellent suggestions pertaining to attorney's who specialize in the I 601 waivers. I am working with Lizz Cannon, and she is amazing. She keeps you informed and works very hard to win your case. Look her up! She provides free initial consultations as well. Be sure to give her an accurate background regarding your case.

Sent me a private message, i can tell you the attorney who process my original petitions, they are in NYC, not sure if they specialize in these type of cases, but it is worth a call..
