I was told that you can get multiple entry/24 months if send Red Book with tourist visa application. Is this correct?

Yes, but I am not sure if the 2 year selection will be on the application that you will use. If not you can write 2 year and verify with the agency you are using.

You will also need to provide a copy of your wife's passport.

Believe so. Consider checking with PRC embassy, or PRC consulate in your area, for details and requirements.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

i am chinese american, i didnt have to show anything else to get 2 year multiple entries visa for china.

Sounds reasonable. However, It iis my impression.that it takes a little more documentation if you are not Chinese-American or Chinese spouse of PRC citizen. Hence my suggestion to contact the PRC embassy or consulate for specific details/requirements.

leishi....Good luck at your interview!!

I was told that you can get multiple entry/24 months if send Red Book with tourist visa application. Is this correct?

absolutely !! but note 'send' here, aye?

all China Consulates in USA require 'in person' drop off, so if you are going through an Agency here in USA, you'll need to make sure yer red book makes it IN with your application packet, and that YOU TELL THE AGENT they MUST make sure the Consulate Staff knows you are married to a PRC national and MAKE SURE the 2 year multi-entry visa is applied for.

It ain't automatic, even with showing the red book - you have to be certain to ask for it. Include the red book and a photo copy of the red book with yer visa application.

My first was one year multiple entry, next time will show spouse and try for 2 yr.

you don't have a red book, you weren't married in China. Can try it with the marriage certificate that you have.

Yes, but I am not sure if the 2 year selection will be on the application that you will use. If not you can write 2 year and verify with the agency you are using.

Ya, this is a big problem. For a while, there was a 2 year tickbox on the visa application form. I not see it this year, and even then, it wasn't on all Embassy websites, just the one in Houston and the one in DC. grrr..

If it's a good agency, they already know how to do. If not, one must train them a bit.

The multiple entry 24 month visas are really easy to get within the US these days (although I have heard that the consulate in San Francisco does not issue the 24 month visa). I just recently obtained my second one and was also able to get one for my son without any trouble at all. As others have already mentioned the option for the multiple entry 24 month visa is not actually listed on the visa application form however there is an 'Other' option listed under question 2.2 (Intended Number of Entries) which is used for this - you just check the 'Other' box and then write in "Multiple entries valid for 24 months" on the line provided. I have always used a visa service to obtain my visas and they were very familiar with the 24 month visas and have an option for it on their order form (both www.mychinavisa.com & www.oasischinavisa.com which I have used do any way).

If you use a visa service, then there is no need to send in any original documents with your application other than your own passport & photos - you can send photocopies of your wife's passport bio pages, your redbook or US marriage license and if your wife is already an LPR then you will need to send in a photocopy of her green card as well. In addition to these items, for my son's visa I also needed to send in a photocopy of his US birth certificate with the application as well.
