Hello,

We would appreciate some clarification on the Affidavit of Sponsor. We will be having a co-sponsor. Will My US fiance fills out an i -134 as well as the co-sponsor? How do you indicate that my US fiance will be using a co-sponsor other than just filing out 2 forms? Do we need to include a letter stating who the co-sponsor is to accompany the forms and required tax information?

Thank you so much!

Cheers,

Carin

just wanted to share what we did. we had co-sponsor too. we let our co-sponsor fill up and signed another I-314 form. asked 3 years of tax returns from him, a photocopy of his passport, and a letter stating his willingness to support me. i had a folder titled "affidavit of support". then, i placed my fiance's affidavit of support and all its supporting documents on the top, and under it my co-sponsor's documents...all in one folder with the "affidavit of support" title. when the consul asked for the affidavit of support, I simply slide that folder to her and she scanned them all. and that's it.

i don't know if what we did was the way it should be but we got approved. i hope this helps.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! This is helpful. Again, another question: in addition to the 1-134 form the co-sponsor and sponsor must provide 3 paystubs and 3 years of tax returns? I must be missing the page where it indicates all this. I would appreciate some direction and advise. Thanks!

You will each need to fill out your own I-134, and provide the most year's tax transcript (or a complete copy of your return with all forms, schedules, W-2s and 1099s, etc.), a letter from employer stating position and salary, and a few months worth of your most recent pay stubs (I would say 3-6 would be fine). The co-sponsor will also need to provide proof of being a USC or LPR with a copy of their birth certificate, naturalization, bio page of US passport or front and back copy of green card.
