I think our Government is smarter than we think. Maybe there is a reason why they take a long time to approve some petitions. It gives a lot of people time to think, if they want to go thru with this lengthy procedure. If it would take only a couple of weeks to approve some petitions, there would be a lot more people applying for visas, and a lot more people coming into to the U.S. and a lot more divorces, and a lot more heart brakes.

ironic you said that because thats exactly what i was thinking when i looked at the processing times. i guess it does make ppl really think like is it really worth is. and sometimes while petitions are pending the relationship falls apart.

Thanks. I have made numerous posts and help people from my Philippines mostly, as I am more familiar with the K1 VISA procedures, since I have been through it once before. At that time the whole process with and RFE, Embassy interview with VISA in hand was 4 months and 5 days. That was back in 2010. Don't what the difference is now that is causing things to be so slow. I have never been insulted in a post before. The quote "People like you" to me is an insult and some people if you said it to based on ther race, might consider it a racial slur. I am okay. I will just stay away from posts involving the Dominican Republic users.

whoa.... I personally am from DR. theres nothing wrong with us dominicans. I wanna say as a dominican I understand your comment and it came off as a little harsh because she is just concerned as we most are. Some people are sensitive you know. And i just think you were a bit too real with the comment. Although what you said was all facts they may have hurt some feelings alone the way! this is just my opinion please dont snap back at me :ot2:

I am not that type of person and I don't make offensive statements like "People like you". I never grouped anything into people from the DR, I just said maybe I won't comment on anymore post that are form the DR. Sorry if you took it the wrong way. Take care.

Those of us on VJ that have been through the process, and the waits, know that if the OP is already complaining about having to wait two months with no action, when the process does not grant, for the most part, a successful petition for far longer, then they are in for an immense lesson in patience. To think that an approval comes in so short a time frame, and to start prematurely moaning when it hasn't, indicates an unreasonable expectation on the part of those who do this.

It's all well an good to be annoyed, frustrated, emotional, to struggle with the wait, so long as we realize it won't change a thing. The time frames are what they are, that they consistently run over is well known, that we all despise waiting is a fact, but that USCIS are the only game in town, and your approval will come when it comes.

Thank you for your reasonable comment.

I am quite new to this site but I log on each day to read the positive news and words of encouragement from other people who are waiting. Its been so important to me to have support from other people going through this difficult process because as much as you try to explain to friends and family its others on VJ that really understand so lets put the negativity and judgement aside and have more words of encouragement!

And as hard as this process is I do see the benefits of it taking a little time. I am the beneficiary and have lived in America before as a student and have visited friends there dozens of times but still feel in some ways I need this time to plan the transition properly and be emotionally and financially ready for such a major life change. Me and my boyfriend have talked about applying for a visa before over the years but I look back now and see that we didn't submit that application probably for good reason, we wernt quite ready. But we persevered and only now I can say with confidence that we can withstand this test and hopefully we will look back in a few years and say we are a stronger couple because of it. Doesn't mean I don't look at my timeline every day counting day one more day lol!

RickJovi, I agree with you, the quote "People like you should just not comment" sounds offensive not only to you but also to me because I was reading the same post.

Thank you for your comment of support. I feel like I am being attacked because I made a comment initially on my view, which is honest. It was not meant to hurt anyones feelings and I am a really nice guy that would do anything to help people. I am not evil. I guess from now on I may have to sugar coat comments a little more becasue some people seem to be overly sensitive. The fact is that OP only had their NOA1 for 2 months and 12 days now and the average processing time is 5 months. They are not even at the half way point. I understand the want to be with your loved one as soon as possible. I just spent over $4,000.00 to go see my fiancee again, which I hadn't planned for, but I spent it because I missed her and didn't want to wait 7-9 months from the time she could possibly come here on her VISA. Take care.

For my opinion it doesn't matter how long a person is waiting...either way it's still frustrating.

I mean even the OP just mail or received the NOA1 today or lately. But the OP request for expedite that's the different story. For sure the OP waiting for the approval or denial of the request... (just like my situation I just file my petition last feb but I requested for the expedite...it's really frustrating to get the answer or the outcome of that expedite now..lol)

Or let just put it this way...IT'S HARD TO BE AWAY FROM OUR LOVES ONE!!!!!

I'm still waiting too! was at 4 months on April 2nd, The timeline keeps changing so what i have been doing is stop looking all together and when it comes it will come! Yea it drives you crazy but really if your at 2 months and your already acting like it's killing you..... wait till the 4 or 5 month comes? And then there's a chance for a RFE to come instead of the NOA2. Bottom line you have patience weather you like it or not! I'm the first to tell you i don't have any so imagine what I'm going threw and i see my fiancee 2 hours sometimes 3 hours a day. CRAZY!

Even though we are far from each other right now I know you are close to me in other ways, you are always here in my heart. You give me reason to look forward to each day,You are my life and a dream come true.there are no words to express how i feel for you.You are the light in my darkness. There could never be words strong enough to express my love for you but I'm going to show it to you everyday as long as i live.I love you with my body, soul and mind.I love you very much baby.Mwaaaaaaaaah!

Your Wife to be,

The timeframe for I-130 is 5 months. Some get approved before and some get approved after this time frame, it's just an estimate. 5 months would mean they are processing November. Be patient, you will be approved soon enough.

You are right, but when I see that many people got their I-130s approved within 3 months, I get little impatient.

02/08/12 - I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox.

02/09/12 - NOA1 received and processing at Vermont.

07/02/12 - NOA2 announced on status check.

07/09/12 - NVC received case.

07/27/12 - NVC Case Number and IIN Issued.

07/27/12 - Sent DS-3032 via email.

07/31/12 - AOS bill received via email, paid online.

08/01/12 - AOS marked paid, Mailed AOS packet overnight.

08/06/12 - Assigned as Agent, IV Fee bill received via email, paid online.

08/07/12 - IV Fee marked paid, Mailed IV packet overnight.

SOOO much truth to what you posted. I am desperate for my NOA2 and I just filed not even a month ago. I guess when someone is really in love, it matters more?? I know I am really in love, not so sure about that other guy!
