ds-260 who is the petioner?

On the ds-260 there is a question who is the petioner? brother sister mother father self etc there is no fiance option the closest thing is spouse so I choose spouse and now I am scared, but like I said there wasnt another option. What did you guys select?

That's because it says on the DoS site that its only used for I-130, I-140, I-360, and I-526. K1 is an I-129F.

The US embassy in Mexico site did not provide a clickable link for the K non-immigrant visa types to provide instructions.

Yes, spouse is the correct thing to put. That form is not used for K-1 visas, but for some reason Juarez started asking for it in Jan. 2011 and spouse is what everyone has been choosing.

Juarez requires the DS-260 for K-1 applicants. There are indeed click-able links on the Juarez consulate site though, with all the forms and instructions. http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/fianceforms.html
