Hello

I am new here and have a question. I am an American Citizen living in Germany since 1985. I would like to apply for DCF in Frankfurt for my husband. Now my question is, I have never filed US taxes because I did not know I had to. I also have not been working in germany since 1997. As stated I must show the most recent tax return but I had no income, do I have to use my husbands income? I hope that is not a crazy question but I am totally confused and this is really all new to me. Thanks alot

If one's income is below a certain level then one is not required to file an income tax return. And if one is not required to file an income tax return then one is not required to submit a copy of the non-existant income tax return for immigration purposes. But they are required to explain the situation.

Your husband is neither a US citizen nor a US LPR, so there is no need for him to file a US income tax return.
