Hi im 21 years old and I met a girl online who lives in the states and I want to move there to be with her but I have no degrees and I want to know how can I legally work in united states? Which visa is best for me to try and get? I am planning to marry my girlfriend within a few years but until then I was wondering if there's any options for me to be able to legally work in the states?? And feedback is much apreciated thank you! :)

As a Canadian, you need either a visa authorizing work in the US, an Employment Authorization Document (EAD), or a green card. You cannot legally work without one of these three documents.

You cannot legally work while visiting the US using your visa-free 6 months stay in the US privilege extended to Canadian citizens.

You cannot legally work on the K-1 visa.

You can legally work on the K-1 visa AFTER you get marry AND after you get an EAD.

Nothing short of a spousal visa will allow you to immediately work upon entry into the US.

You could apply for E-2 investment visa if you have the funds to do so.

This visa allows you to start a business and get a visa that needs to be renewed every 2 years and allows you to work in your business.

I have read that it is possible to get approved for SME start up with aprox 50,000 USD investment.

Not sure if thius would be an option for you?

You can't get sponsored by a US employer if they can find someone already in the USA who could do the job. As you have no degree and limited experience, you don't fall into that category.

There is an L1 visa for an intra-company transfer, but it usually applies to managerial roles.

L does include technical types.

Admittedly not relevant in this case.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

You can be eligible for L1 only after you have been working with that same company for over year in your home country.

So L1 does not happen right away, you will have to work for the same employeer in your home country for over 1 year.

Also L1 is mainly as stated for managerial position or for some specialized skill.

For L1 you need a MNC who has offices both in your home country and in US.

If you have the qualification they and the visa require.

What if there is a company in the states that is having a really hard time finding good employees can they sponsor me if they want to hire me?

The employer (likely their attorney) would do the work, and pay the fees for the visa. You don't do a thing. If you've got someone willing to invest the time and $$ go ahead.
