Hello everyone, I recently found out about this site and it is so amazing to see other people experiencing what I'm going through and not being negative about our situations. This website has given me so much hope. I am now trying to find out how to set up everything so share info. Any help would be much appreciated. By the way I received my NOA1 December 6, 2012 and now I am trying my best to be patient and wait for our approval ( Im claiming it, trusting and believing in God, keeping the faith and staying positive). Our case status is still in Initial Review. Is this normal or does most cases have a decision within this period of time?

The case status is often not updated so is not really a reliable indicator of what is going on with your file. As others will tell you, people have received their NOA2 and further when their status is still showing 'initial review'. Your case may take up to 5 months or more before being approved. 5 mths and over is considered a realistic timeframe to start looking at other courses of action. You can check for other threads on this. Good luck with your petition.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number
Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere,and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .
