Hello Everyone and any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I am filing an I-130 tomorrow with the K3 to follow. I have compiled EVERY peice of evidence they could possibly ask for. My husband will be going for his interview in Lagos Nigeria. I am just confused what to submit with the I-130. Some people have told me to submit everything now and some have said to send evidence later. When should I actually submit phone rec, photos, financials, joint financials etc??? As with everyone else I dont want any delays and I want to make sure this is done right. Please help!!!

It is my understanding that the K3 is 'no more' and you will just follow the IR1/CR1 route. The K3 was established when the IR1/CR1 was taking a very long time to process but that is no longer the case (although it might feel like it).

Lagos is known to be one of the hardest consulates to go through so I am sure the advice will be to front load your application with all the relevant primary evidence you have of your relationship. You should then continue to gather additional evidence of your 'ongoing' relationship ready for the interview.

It will be very important for you to read other people's experiences of going through Lagos:

Good luck on your journey.

Well, first of all - you know the K-3 is obsolete right? Filing the I129F with hopes of a K3 will substantially slow down your petition at USCIS and will not result in any sort of visa. Friendly advice, follow the Cr-1 route.

Now on to your question, it seems that Lagos wants phone records at the interview, you can send them to USCIS but make sure you have them at the interview as well. As well, you can send joint financials but that is usually saved (with other financials) for the I864. But if you have something like a joint bank account then you can send that to USCIS

Good luck

I just sent out our I-130 the first part of April. For this petition I really front loaded it with phone records, emails, wedding pics, pics of trip taken together, pics with family and friends, letter from mom and boss, copies of letters written by husband to me, evidence of my name change, etc. From experience it is in your best interest to front load your petition. You don't need to send all phn records, or emails, just samples of them. Put your best foot forward. That said, there are still no quarantees with Lagos. But my husband and I feel much better having a substantial amount of evidence sent in with the petition. Not so much for the USCIS but for which ever consular interviews him in Lagos. I wish you well on this very hard journey.

With Lagos, I would say front load everything and make sure you make two other copies of everything you are sending out. One for your records and one for your husband to take with him on his interview. Front loading your application is what has been suggested by most of the Nigerian petitioners. I will be filing for my husband soon. I am sending everything but the kitchen sink this time around but in moderation. Address all your red flags in your petition and don't leave anything out. What you address now can prevent delay or denial later at the embassy level. No one can guarantee the outcome of anyone's fate, but move evidence means stronger petition and less headache later down the road.

Good luck

With the consulate in Lagos, everything but the kitchen sink is definitely the way to go. Frontload everything and also keep copies of everything that you sent in, so your husband can have it with him during his interview.
