Submitted the AOS....interview next..

Ok guys..we're doing pretty good.

Filed the I-130 in SEPT 2011. Got approved FEB 24, 2012. Now, we just filed the AOS. I sent my AOS and my wife sent her IV App the same week. They said it will take up to 20 days for them to review. If they got everything they needed, then they will notify us about the her interview, which will be in El Salvador.

3 things:

1) What does she have to bring? I assume it's more or less the stuff we sent in for the I-130. Also, maybe MY tax returns here in the U.S? Just an overwhelming amount of evidence to show the officer. Is that right?

2) She's the only one who needs to interview, right? I don't need to interview for anything, right?

3) If the interview goes well, do they approve her right then and there? Or do we have to wait for an answer to see if we got approved?

You'll get a better response in the El Salvador forum, since what to bring to the interview can vary between embassies. Typically, the interview letter or another document received from the embassy will list the things you need to bring. At a minimum, people usually bring the AOS, IV forms, medical examination record, and all the evidence submitted to USCIS or the NVC.

September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
