Hi everyoone,

I got a little bit confused about these two documents.

here is the situation:

My fiance has been married before (of course we sent a copy of divorce certificate when we start the process)

For the interview they are asking for :

¾ Marriage certificate (s)

¾ Death and/or divorce certificate(s)

I did not check on my check list and I thought was about me.. I have never been married before.

Do I have to bring both Marriage Certificate and Divorce Decree from my fiance?

Or just the Divorce paper since we used it at the beginning?

Please help!

Thanks

Cam & Ellie

You should only need his divorce certificate. The marriage one is for females who have had name changes due to marriage.

Only needed my guys divorce certificate at the interview. - but just a note make sure they ask you for it. If they don't, tell them you have it and ask if they want it. I was never asked for his divorce papers and when I was in my interview he said they most certainly do need to see it and have a copy of it ( even if it was sent in the start ). The interviewer said if I had not inquired about it I wouldn't have been able to get my visa issued! The woman at the window could of screwed everything up for me lol.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Wow, Inky!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience.. So the divorce paper has to be given at the window with the others papers right?

I will make sure I remember all that.

Thanks, again!

Eli

Ps- I am glad it worked well for you :)

Phew!

It should be yes. Ask for the original back too! they kept the copy and gave me the original back after inspecting the stamp and seal etc on his originals.
