I was schedule for K-1 Visa interview on April 11th 2012, i don't not attend because i am waiting for my police clearance from countries where have spend more than 6 months to arrived. and at the moment i have the documents . and i have reschedule for an interview through email. please what else should i do to expedite the process or to know that my rescheduling date is very close by. And also i am afraid that my I797 might expire before the date that they will give me for rescheduling, should i fill for extension for my K-1 or wait until i receive a reschedule date?

please i need your advice on this matter thanks

I copied this from an email they sent me. Hope it answers you.

Q8: What if I cancel or miss my appointment?

A: Please send us an e-mail with your name, case number, and contact address. We will contact you by email with the next available appointment date. We are currently scheduling appointments three to four months from today. Please note that we can reschedule a Diversity Visa appointment only ONE time. If you miss your rescheduled DV appointment, we will not reschedule you a second time.

You should contact them immediately to make sure they don't tink you have abandoned the visa. If the next appointment is months out then you can at the same time request that they extend the petitions validity period ( they usually do this automatically but having a email trail is always a good thing )

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thank you Olomi,

I saw that on their web page, but it refer to DV appointment. A part from that have hear of any other case where some one on immigrant visa succeeded in rescheduling?
