Hi Leafgal,

I replied to your PM about this already, but thought I'd put it out there for anyone interested. The only thing you need to transfer is an address that is in the Vancouver jurisdiction. I emailed a request this morning, and when I had not heard from them by the afternoon, I called to follow up on it. The lady I spoke to transferred the case while I was on the phone. I used the address of a friend of the family; as long as you trust that the person will forward your mail quickly, it shouldn't be a problem.

Before she transferred the case, I confirmed that no interview had been scheduled, and the woman said that at Montreal, I wouldn't have an interview until February. Who knows if what they say is true or not, they give so many different answers, but I'm feeling pretty happy about getting out of there. :)

Jersey Girl, how do you know keep track of your case at this point, as far as touches go? Good luck!

In other news, my fiancee is now working at a job where she won't be able to call Montreal at the appointed times(at least for the next few weeks). We've decided not to call at all in this time. Leafgal, you're our barometer, so when you get your letter, we'll know to anticipate ours.

I still keep track at the USCIS site. track online

I also work at a job where I can't call Canada (no long distance allowed). But I've got an international phone card and wondered if it might work from a pay phone. Not sure.

But I try to hang loose because I've gotten enough grey hairs this year already, and I don't need the stress of misinformation. Like everything else, we have to be patient, know that it's in the works, and that it WILL happen at some point. Worry and anxiety does not push the rock up the hill any further!

Ya know for me that site has been useless. I signed up for the email notification and it says that is is on but I have NEVER gotten an email. Not even in junk mail. Not to mention when I log in on that site I got that it had been received or approved (I forget now) back in April I think it was. Then one touch in July and nothing since.

Go figure! *shrugs*

Every time I check at USCIS, the last update was her approval(EAC #). I just tried to put in her NVC case number and it said it was invalid. Oh, well.

I have a calling card too, since it's much cheaper than the phone company's rates. I do have time to call, but we need to be patient and trust Him.

Philippians 4: 6,7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

That's what I was told the past few times I'd spoken to Montreal, but take it with a grain of salt! I've been told so many different things from Montreal, it's hard to know what's the reality is anymore. It's very possible that you will have your interview much sooner than that. For me though, the idea of this process taking almost a year was too much, so Vancouver it is. I sincerely hope that everyone has their interviews much sooner than that.

If your NOA2 expires, it's my understanding that they simply extend it, so don't stress too much about that :)

Well..its official...Montreal received our packet 3 yesterday via express post. My fiancee sent it on Monday and it was delivered the next day..not too shabby. So now we can really wait  ...February...that doesn't sound too encouraging, but I too believe that God is in control. I know my fiancee and I are always praying for the person who handles the paperwork..that it is handled carefully and in an expedient manner. The rest really is in His hands.

Deflated is an absolutely appropriate word to describe how I feel now. I've been silent for the past little while just trying to figure out how I feel and the next move to make. This is unbelievable! Over a 4 month wait for an interview? Maybe we can all use mercy's contact in Vancouver and get our cases transferred. :crying:

Oh I am definately thinking I might transfer I have lots of addresses I could use to get it done. I just don't want to do it unless it looks like it will work to get it done for this year. I will make a decison on the weekend, I dont' want to have to resend documents either as that would take longer. Lots to think about over the next few days for sure.
