Paid Packet IV ($404), Embassy requires $350 payment. is that part of the $404??

I paid in December 2011, the $404 for Packet IV. We have our interview on Monday, the 16th. One of the requirements that the embassy requires is proof that $350 has been paid to a Citi Bank, but when she went the teller said that if she didn't get a bill, it means it must've been paid already.

We didn't get a bill, and the only reason we know about the $350 is because of their requirements for interview on the Embassy page for El Salvador. I don't mind re-paying the $350 if it's required or not, as long as the VISA gets approved on Monday. The teller wouldn't take the money unless she had some type of bill.

My question is, the $404 I paid for Packet IV, does $350 of that go to the embassy, or do we need to figure out a bank account number, or something, so that we can make the $350 payment out to... ?

I appreciate any help...

Can you link to the page that cites the fee? I only found this page, which includes only the original fee of the Packet IV.

Wow, I sent everything in that spanish list, which asks for I-134, and DS-156.

in the english version, it doesnt ask for those, instead it asks for I-864 - which I did not send.

similar questions but different document numbers, this is what has had me confused through this whole process. one place I find one thing, and in another, something else.

It's too late for me to send a signed I-864 before the interview on Monday. Think I'll have an issue?

it's in spanish:

Ah, I didn't notice you're doing a K-3 visa, you might have better luck in the K-3 forums. The link I provided above is for a CR-1/IR-1. Sorry. Perhaps an admin can move the post to the K-3 forums? I did find this on the embassy's website about K visas:

Fees - How much does a K visa cost?

Fees are charged for the following services:

Filing a Petition for Alien Relative, Form I-130

Filing an Alien Fiancé(e) Petition, Form I-129F

Nonimmigrant visa application processing fee, Form DS-156 (required for each K visa applicant)

Medical examination (required for each K visa applicant; costs vary from post to post)

Other costs may include translation and photocopying charges, fees for getting the documents required for the visa application (such as passport, police certificates, birth certificates, etc.), and travel expenses to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate for an interview. Costs vary from country to country and case to case.

Filing Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

For current fees for Department of State, see Fees for Visa Services. For current fees for USCIS, see Check Filing Fees on the USCIS website.

Could this be the fee for the Form DS-156, which also appears to be listed on the page to which you linked? I don't know much about K-3 visas and don't speak Spanish...

I'm doing CR-1 :(...

At first I thought I was doing K-3 Visa... turns out I was doing CR-1, somehow.

Ah! In that case it appears the link you provided is for K-3 applicants so you can disregard it. At the bottom of page 1 it clearly says it's for K-3 packets (the 2nd main paragraph also appears to say something about K-3 visas...).

I don't know if you'll have any problems. If you already got an appointment you must have made it through NVC? I'm a little puzzled, too. Perhaps you could contact the embassy to clarify?

tried calling today, to find out about the $350... No answer, no luck at all.

I originally filed for the K-3, so this is where I got confused, I'm not sure when or how it changed over to CR-1...

I'll fill out the I-864. I am sure I know the answer to this, how important is my signature on there...? Should I have her forge it, or just take it unsigned, my signature is pretty easy.

I just don't want to miss our opportunity and have the process delayed even more just when we're so close to the finish line...

Sorry, I'm not sure what to tell you. Presumably the forms you already submitted have been reviewed if you moved on to the interview process. Even if your wife takes in an I-864, you'd need the supporting tax transcripts or 1040s and W2s. I would also not suggest forging a signature.

NVC's call in center is still open for another 40 minutes, can you try to call them? I'm not sure if they can help with a case that has already moved to an embassy but might be worth a shot at this point.

NVC said they don't know any of the requirements that the Embassy requires and I tried to reach the Embassy earlier today with no luck...

I sent all my tax information for 2011 which I filed last week to her, so she has the 1040's and W2's. When I originally filed, I remember sending tax information and proof of employment from 2006-2007-2008-2009-2010

I previously sent Passport pictures of me into them, one of the requirements is for them, again. I dont know if that's really necessary since they have at least one set of passport pictures from each of us...

There's a $800 flight to head over there Sunday, to be there in time for the interview on Monday. Very tempting but I don't think I can get off work. I think Ill just have her bring in an unsigned I-864. Don't really have much of a choice unless I spend $800 on a plane ticket.

Sorry for your troubles, hopefully the embassy has everything they need and your wife will be approved without any problems. I can imagine how frustrating it is to be so close to the end and not sure what you need. Good luck to your wife on Monday.

Why you looking at this info in Spanish? But if you went through NVC I guess you already paid the fee and most of those documents should be with the package NVC sent to the embassy .

Finally we all three together. We are happy :)

I was looking at it in Spanish because their site was in Spanish, and figured that'd be the best thing to do... NVC already received all the fee's they are requiring, and they have all the documentation they need. I called to verify that.

The only thing is now the Embassy... and their documentation they require. I told her to show up with all our documentation and with the unsigned I-864, hopefully if they dont accept it, she doesnt get a new interview date for 3 months down the road... that's my biggest fear right now.

Since you are on the CR-1 path, all government fees related to the visa itself have been paid to the NVC. The only payment the Embassy might require is a delivery fee to return the passport with the visa inside of it (and this requires an Embassy specific answer).

I originally filed for the K-3, so this is where I got confused, I'm not sure when or how it changed over to CR-1...

The stated policy of the NVC is when they have an approved I-130 on station, an I-129F that was filed to start down the K3 process is administratively closed. The NVC usually receives both petitions at the same time or sometimes, they receive the I-130 first. In either of these scenarios, an I-129F that was filed in conjunction with said I-130 for the K3 path is administratively closed which only leaves the I-130 for the CR-1 active.

At first I thought I was doing K-3 Visa... turns out I was doing CR-1, somehow.

350 is for a K-1 or K-3 visa.

you are not one of those, at all.

You've paid fees already through NVC for a CR-1 visa.

Disregards what you've read on that website, it doesn't apply to your casetype, at all.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
