I don't have a back-up plan, but I think we can easily prove our relatioship is real. We spent 8 months+ in person in the last 3,5 years so I hope that shows it is genuine.

Srsly, I have no idea what to do if we get denied.

It is about split between those that think that getting married is the cure and those that do another CR1, the key is time together either way. It seems that 30 days is the minimum for an approval.

im currently in naja now with my husband and this make 21 days together.im coming back for the interview which we hope is july sometime and that would make my 30 days...however u never know with lagos...i have no backup plan as i am relying on PLAN A to work because we have so muchhhhhh evidence...u would think 4 international plane trips would prove this is not fraud..who has time and money for that if we are fake..all the investment in rebtel its just keeps adding up for me and my husband..we just have to hold on to HOPE and step out on faith! thats my back up plan! im rooting for u

Me and my fiancé have discussed all of the possibilities …. If God forbid our K1 is denied we will get married in our country (we are both from Bulgaria) and then file CR1 or even better he may come to live here for a while. You never know what might happen / as you leave your whole life in the hands of people that you do not know and they know nothing about you in real life except DOB, name and things like that /

It’s so frustrating that you have to “prove” to someone who you do not know that you love somebody (especially using receipts, tickets, photos and so on …. ) it’s so frustrating ….. One, two or even more trips or photos together cannot show or prove your real feelings …. I knew that he is “the one” before I met him in person …. B-)

Most people once denied the k1 run and fiel CR1 which can be denied too. I say have faith in ur petition get all ur ducks in a row pay attention to detail and be organized and you will be ok....I am not sure there is a magic number of days u have to spend with ur fiance in order to be approved I know of a couple that lived in Naija together for 2 yrs and they still were denied and some take one trip and spend one week and are approved so really there is no rhyme or reason to all the madness :) Goodluck to you

Me too. I fell in love with him before I met him in person. But the United States don't want foreigners defrauding their subjects/country, especially since Nigeria is flagged for fraud. I going end up making a substantial sacrifice, because I have a feeling they won't approve us since I only spent 4 months (2 visits 2 months) with him.

I would have married my wife in Vietnam and filed a CR1 petition. If that was denied then I would have moved to Vietnam to live with her while we went through the appeals process. If we had exhausted all possible chances of getting a visa then I would have lived in Vietnam the rest of my life.

Awwwww, that's so beautiful! (L) She's blessed to have you. :)

That's always in the back of my mind. But my wife will never know how much I love her. :)

Hi, I am just picking up on a comment regarding 30 days being the minimum a couple should spend together to be approved as I have been following posts on this website for a few months and this is the first time I have heard this so wondered if someone could clarify.

I was just curious whether this was time spent in the two years prior to sending the I-129F or until the point of aproval of the K1 visa at the embassy? I have dated my partner on and off for 13 years but we only got back together in December 2011 and from then to filing the I-12F last month I have done 3 trips to the US so far but due to work commitments I am not able to take much vacation time so the three trips only amounted to about 25 days total. But I plan to visit every 10 weeks or so for about a week until we are closer to the embassy stage so that number will increase quite a bit. I was wondering if people have had RFE's or problems with this as it didn't specify a minimum amount on the form? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.
