Packet 3, Lost?

I'm applying for a K-1 visa at the Paris embassy.

As far as time frames go: It's been 3 weeks since the embassy received my package from NVC (one month since NVC sent the package). The girl at NVC confirmed the date it was mailed, and someone signed my package at the embassy, according to the information from the DHL website.

I have looked at other Visa Journey Paris embassy applicants, and their timelines all say they got theirs within 2 weeks.

It costs 15 dollars per MINUTE to call the embassy (sounds like extortion to me) so that's out.

Is there any way to look up the information online using my NVC case number? Is there any other way to reach the embassy? It cannot possibly take this long to send the package across town.

What happens if they did lose it?

Have you tried emailing them? The below is from the embassy info tab at the top of this page.

ParisConIV@state.gov

If you leave your name, a phone number and your case number the embassy should call you back.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I would email the embassy and inform them who signed the DHL package. I had to do the same along with the waybill number from the DHL website. Once I gave them that information, they went in the back (as they said) and found the case. 15 dollars per minute wow! :wow: Talk about highway robbery! Good luck

Thanks for your replies everyone! I emailed the embassy yesterday and just received an automatic response, oh well.

I guess I will just continue to wait and hope for the best. Isn't that what this whole process feels like, anyway? :)

Alyssa, you better post in the french-american couples topic now that you're at the embassy stage.

Have you call the Department of State as I advised you to do?! They will be able to tell you the last update on your case, and if packet 3 has been sent out to you!

And there's another phone number to call the Paris embassy that doesn't cost 14,50 euros per call. Check the Paris Embassy VJ page (immigrant visa department number).
