Packet 3 help please!

Hi Everyone,

I received my Packet 3 and I'm basically all ready to go except for waiting for my fiancé to post the financial support form and my medical, which is booked for next week.

The Canberra US Embassy website states to send the DS-230 form immediately but I didn't see anything in the Packet 3 to state that. I called the Visa information line at the embassy and the girl was less than helpful. It's concerning when the person you call for information doesn't know what a K1 or I-129F is, nor Packet 3 or even a DS-230 form! So what I need to know is:

Do I have to send anything immediately?

What do I send with my statement of readiness?

What do I take to my interview?

Thank you so much for all of your help so far. It's great to be in such a supportive network.

K

I just answered my first question! Serves me right for trying to read instructions off a tiny iPhone...

So I just need to what I need to send with my packet 3 (all remaining forms, but anything else?)

What do I need to take to my interview?

Hello!

DS-230 is the form that opens your case at the consulate. Nothing can be put through until you've given them that form. So send Part 1 of DS-230 to the consulate ASAP, before you send packet 3.

When you send packet 3, you should also send it with DSL-1076, which is the form that states you're ready to be interviewed.

As for the interview, I haven't reached that stage yet, but I'm going to take relationship evidence and copies of EVERYTHING. Just in case. :P

Hope this helped!

  • Packet 3 sent to Consulate April 11 2012
  • Interview date sent back on April 18 2012 (according to them. I had to email to find out, which I got a reply to on April 26)

I think you should get off your iphone. All the questions you're asking could be answered from reading packet three thoroughly.

When you click the link for the DSL-1076 form, it will come with instructions and even a checklist. Just follow that list and the instructions. :)

Filed: Citizen (pnd) Country: Australia
Timeline

Did you book a police check? if not, that's the most urgent thing to get now! and if you are in NSW, you can get info from my thread too about NSW Police check.

You can see my post here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/353726-i-got-noa2-booked-medical-then/i talked about what to do after getting NoA2.

And looking at your timeline, July 7 wedding you are pushing it. I handed mine in end of Sept, i'm aiming for July 7 Wedding too and i have interview date May 1.

You need to send in your DS-230 asap before anything else. But if you have all the documents ready (including police check, and your fiance's financial support form, DS-130 i think. Medical result can take to interview) you can send all together. Read your pkt 3 carefully!
