So can one safely assume once you get your medical results (which you arent allowed to open right?) that you have passed? If you had issues they would notify you?

Pretty sure we passed everything but just wondering if they gave the common courtesy lol before you go for your interview or if people get surprised at their interviews? paranoid preggo brain i guess..

And if I cant open it i can assume i can open the fed ex envelope and contents inside will be in a sealed envelope? just want to ensure mine and both kids are in there? and it must be a huge envelope if they send chest xrays?

thanks guys..

Yes they would tell you if anything needed medical attention. If you got your medical back then your good.

Yup, they would notify you at the medical if you didnt pass and what you needed. In the line up of about 40 people the day I had mine done.. there were two people that didnt pass. They call you up, give your little "DO NOT OPEN" packet and your off.

You will hand that packet in to the consulate officer that takes you to your interview.

Funny thing I noticed during that event. When I handed it in, office took it and put the disk through a machine. He had a new trainee with him that was trying to put disk in machine and was trying it upside down. I had a chuckle. I mentioned something funny and they laughed, and I asked them if that machine reads that disk that quick. They said "yup" I mean it wasnt in a disk drive or anything.. just a scanner. Wowed me.

On a similar note, I have a question.

Can I arrange the medical myself to be done in Toronto, then bring sealed envelope to Montreal interview.

Or do they (MTL)arrange the medical and have it in Montreal shortly before the interview?

You book the medical exam yourself. You can do it either at Working Medical in Vancouver, Dr. Seiden's in Toronto, Dr. Seiden's in Montreal, or Medisy's in Montreal. It usually takes a couple of business days (2-3) for them to get the results of the medical back to you, so plan accordingly.

Thanks Pocheros. I live in London, Ontario and have family in Toronto so that helps. I didn't particularly want to be wandering around Montreal and paying for hotel accommodations for several days. Our budget is very very tight and it would be a strain on us. Initially we thought, after we married, that I could apply from there and so we rented an apartment. I then discovered I had to stay in Canada throughout the process so, for the past 8 months have been paying rent in two countries. Not fun. Being able to bop in to Toronto for the medical helps alot. Again, thanks for the info Pocheros.
