I have my Fiancé Visa(K-1) and Need to know that if I will travel on British Airways, One Way Ticket from Delhi- London- New York- San Francisco, Will there be any kind of difficulty with Immigration Officer at Delhi Airport or with the Airline? Or do I have to purchase Round Trip?

It's a one way trip my friend.. Once u leave your home country you won't be able to go back until adjustment of status.. So return ticket is not necessary.

I know its not a problem with lots of other countries at the time of immigration, I want to know If someone from India did so and haven't faced any problem at New Delhi Airport with the Airline or Immigration Officer.

I am not indian but I know you need a one-way ticket. The airline people and immigration will check your passport and you will have the K1 visa.. I emailed the US consulate before leaving and asked them this same question, they told me a one way ticket was what i needed.

Which ever is cheaper is the way you want to go. If you are that concerned, call the airlines and ask them as they may have no idea what a K-1 visa is and will want to see a RT ticket before letting you board.

Good luck,

Dave

You can buy whichever is cheaper... just be sure if you buy roundtrip, to cancel it when you are in the States. I've bought a roundtrip, and if anyone ask, I will tell them the truth, it's cheaper that way!

You need just the one-way ticket, not a roundtrip.

Doesn't matter; purchase what you want and want to afford.

One-way for immigration visas including K-1.

Round-trip for visas where you aren't allowed to stay, proving that you intend to return home.

It's not a conspiracy, just get the one-way. And it doesn't matter if the reply is from an India or non-India VJ member - no one at the immigration desk cares where you came from or has a different rule book that they pull out for Indians only.

One more piece of advice...schedule enough time between NY and San Francisco. It took my fiance 4 hours to get through immigration in Newark. This time of year, you shouldn't have weather delays at either airport, but if you don't schedule enough time between flights, make sure your fiance is comfortable dealing with the ticketing agents/desks to reschedule if the connection is missed.

Thanks to everyone for being so helpful, I have already purchased a ticket from Delhi - London - New York - San Francisco with a gap of 3 hours between each flight and I hope that won't be a problem at New York Airport for clearing Immigration and Customs.
