Hello all, Just wondering if anyone got approval or have been scheduled for interview if you sent your AOS in January 2012. I sent it on 01/04/12, finger printed on 02/08/12 and nothing since finger print... Thanks.

Had my interview March 29, and approved a few hours later. This was in Detroit.

AOS package recieved January 14th, Biometrics done February 13, EAD recieved March 14 and GC recieved last Saturday. A very smooth, fast proces :)

Hope you hear something soon.

CSC is apparently choking with a great volume of cases. Not a faster processing method at all :(

We applied for AOS 1/27/12 and my wife had her biometrics done on 3/5/12 but we haven't heard anything to date. Some people were telling us that she should at least get her work permit one month after the biometrics but so far, nothing. Also, they will not issue her a social security card (we applied shortly after 1/27/12). They say that the rules have changed and that applying for a SSN immediately after filing AOS no longer works. The SS office said that the SSN's are only provided once she receives her work permit and/or green card.

Meanwhile, here in the crazy state of Vermont illegals are working everywhere without fear of getting caught and now the state is going to give them driver's licenses. My wife is here legally, cannot work and cannot get her driver's license until she gets her SSN. She's pretty discouraged and wonders why the USA is so screwed up and why criminals can work but she cannot.

Congratulations! and Good luck in your interview.

With the SSN it's weird - you can apply for SSN without having work permit. I got my Social security card a week ago - I just showed them my passport and marriage certificate and after couple of days I got it per mail. However, I can't work with it but at least I got something done.:)
