Did you send any other financial info besides tax transcripts?

I sent the bank statements that span the last 3 years (2 statements per year) and also stock account statements (1 for each year). I was too lazy to send information about 401k and insurance beneficiary stuff. I figured that bank statements with both our paychecks going in and all our expenses coming out would pretty much prove the fact that we do have co-mingled finances.

Similar to the poster above, I sent some joint bank statements (1 per year-ish) a few bills addressed to us both at the same address that spanned the length of the marriage, our joint mortgage. I didn't go overboard just good solid examples.

The way I read it in the guide here and at the USCIS site is that 3 years of tax transcripts is sufficient for marriage related documentation. Did you add anything to this? Thanks.

We also added three recent bank statements, current auto and health and insurance, copies of drivers licenses, etc as evidence we are still married and living together. For the three year rule to apply you need to show you are still married and living together.

Thanks for the replies. The reason I asked is the following taken from the USCIS site. It reads to me that IRS tax transcripts from the last 3 years are sufficient. There is an or at the end of each line. I guess it can't hurt to include a few more items but IMHO it doesn't appear that they are asking for them. Better safe than a RFE. Again, thanks for the iput.

Per USCIS: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=6f547db185e43110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCRD&vgnextchannel=11616c854523d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD

If you are applying for naturalization on the basis of marriage to a U.S. citizen, send the following 4 items:

Evidence that your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for the last 3 years:

- Birth certificate (if your spouse never lost citizenship since birth); or

- Certificate of Naturalization; or

- Certificate of Citizenship; or

- The inside of the front cover and signature page of your spouse's current U.S. passport; or

- Form FS-240, Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America; and

Your current marriage certificate; and

Proof of termination of all prior marriages of your spouse (divorce decree(s), annulment(s), or death certificate(s)); and

Documents referring to you and your spouse:

- Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates of children; or

- Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-certified copies of the income tax forms that you both filed for the past 3 years; or

- An IRS tax return transcript for the last 3 years.

Yes, it is. You might want to take some additional documents to interview.

I have read elsewhere that it's advisable to take all the originals plus all passports current AND expired to the interview. I expect they will ask for more docs by mail prior to interview if they want you to bring more papers to the interview. I didn't bother sending driver's license or passport info in the N-400 package as I expect they will ask for that info at interview as they didn't ask for it on the N-400.

Last year when my brother in law filed for Citizenship he only sent in 3yrs of tax transcripts and that was sufficient. Adam & I just mailed his package today and we put tax transcripts from 2008-2010 plus a copy of 2011 taxes that we just filed, plus copies of last year and this year car insurance in both of our names, plus this years Home owners insurance in both of our names, plus a copy of his Selected Service with our house address on it. He filed based on the 3yrs+ greencard holder & almost 6yrs marriage to me :) Should be plenty!

And I too read somewhere that at the interview bring any of the originals that you made copies of, plus your State issued ID, plus your passport (current or expired) -which is good to know bcz Adams Egyptian passport expires in Sept which should be either around the time of the end of all of this or after all of this is over. Im excited to get this all over with !

We only sent tax transcripts.

My wife took some other stuff to the interview, but wasn't asked for anything.

The impression I have is that at naturalization, all USCIS cares about is that you are still married.

Yeah, I think they are primarely focussed on eligibility and of course you not hidding things that might jeopardize that but you don't know exactly what the IO wants to see so it is always a gamble. Take some things that have your joint names on it. Could be things like an insurance card.
