I received an email from the embassy the other day on my husbands case, but at the end it had -

Privacy/PII

This email is UNCLASSIFIED.

I have never gotten a mail from them with this on it. Can anyone explain what this means?

It means that the purpose of the document Privacy/PII is to assist Federal agencies in protecting the confidentiality of personally identifiable information (PII) in information systems.That is it.

Email unclassified is a term used by U.S. local and federal government agencies to refer to information that is not classified for reasons of national security.It means they can disclosure the informations.
