So sorry if this has been posted already, I couldn't quite find the answer I was looking for:

My husband entered America at Dulles POE on March 2, 2012 on a CR-1 spouse visa. (We did the DCF process from South Korea.) We received a letter from the Department of Homeland Security that gave us a receipt number. We called the very frustrating automated hotline that said he would receive his greencard 2 months from the received date, or after he had filed any required paperwork. I looked all over that paper from Homeland Security and it didn't say we needed to submit anything else.

So basically, are we just waiting until May from the greencard? Does it truly take 2 months for the government to print his greencard? Ugh!

Thanks so much for the help!

Mine arrived in one month. We didn't submit any paperwork.

The CR-1 visa and the stamp he got when he entered acts as a temporary Green Card for all purposes for a year, so technically you already have one. If you don't have a physical copy by May, call and let them know.

My wife and I arrived 02/29. We just got the notification that her green card was mailed on 04/11

You can set up notification using the receipt number on your welcome letter (assuming you got one?) or just check status online by manually entering the receipt number on the status check screen on the USCIS website

Its on the upper left on their home page. Unfortunately you have to get a receipt / welcome letter in order to track the case.

For example this is the current status of our case on the USCIS website:

The USPS reported that they picked up mail from USCIS containing your new card on April 11, 2012. You should receive your new card within 7 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, please call our customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
