" A consular officer reviewed the beneficiary’s case for a visa on April 10. The beneficiary’s application was denied under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), which states that applications lacking required documents must be denied until such time as those documents are submitted and found to be sufficient. The beneficiary was asked in writing to submit a medical examination and a Vietnamese Police Certificate.

The beneficiary may submit the additional information either by mail or in person at the Consulate between 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., any working day, except Wednesdays. The beneficiary should include the OF-194 refusal sheet that the beneficiary received asking for additional information. The OF-194 has been mailed to the beneficiary.

Hey buddy.

It was good speaking to you on the phone tonight. I hope Thu explained things better for you. The email you got sounds like a response to your inquiry. In any case, they mailed a letter to your fiance asking her to submit the police and medical paper. This is the same letter that we got...which pretty much means that you will get the visa after you submit the documents. Make sure your fiance brings her passport and money to pay the EMS fee. This is great news :)

We received the official letter requesting police report and medical exam. I read somewhere on here that IOM is better, and so I told my fiancee to go to IOM this time. She used Cho Ray last time. I turned out Cho Ray is better because its service is faster. If you are a woman, Cho Ray will put a female doctor in to exam you. IOM isn't like that.

The police report is already completed. So she is going to turn those in today.

Congrats, i have been reading your post, you were under AP for long time. i hope after your wife submitting new doc, she will receive pink. this is really happy news. as i read your post, CO informed your wife in the blue slip saying that, your case required additional processing in our office. you do not need to submit further document. the reason they ask for medical exam again because it is expired or other issue. Thanks

They normally try to get things wrapped up before the 1 year mark.. after that it gets to be more paperwork for them than they want to deal with.. Frank & Duyen were in AP for 18 months... Most are 6 months or less...

The medical and police cert are both time sensitive documents that are commonly required to be renewed by those in AP...

SR Have her get an extra copy of the vaccinations if she doesnt have on to make things easier when she gets here...

Thanks everyone.

I'll be sure to get extra copy of vaccinations.

She submitted the police report and medical exam on Friday. They took them and also took her passport. They returned some pictures, timeline and other stuff. They kept two or three photos out of many photos that I submitted when I originally filed back in June 2010.

She paid for the EMS service and they told her that the VISA will be deliver in two weeks. Instead of a typical "pink" paper like most people received. She received a white paper stated that "...your VISA application was approved...do not make travel arrangement until you receive your visa..."

I'm very happy! It has been exactly 11 months since her interview!!!

congrats!!

To quotes a movie, “So how does it happen, great love? Nobody knows... but what I can tell you is that it happens in the blink of an eye. One Moment you're enjoying your life, and the next you're wondering how you ever lived without them.” I felt I found something with Kieu that is rare in life... true love.
