Today I got letter from DOHS saying: NOTICE OF REQUIREMENT TO FILE JOINT PETITION TO REMOVE THE CONDITIONAL BASIS OF AN ALIEN'S (WIFE) PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS.

Now, I believe along with the I-175 application, we must provide some proof as well. Below are what I have:

1) Joint tax return transcript (2011). We got married in 2010 therefore ONLY year 2011 we filed tax as joint

2) Our driver's license with exact same address (same last name as well)

3) My medical insurance saying wife as the dependent. Same for dental insurance. We both have same account number on the insurance.

Is there anything else necessary? We do not have any joint bank account or any other financial document to provide. Kindly someone let me know.

Thanks.

After reading few threads and some of the guides, I think it would not take much to prove a relationship if it is genuine; however one need to provide something concrete, something that will tell the CO. To all those who will need the removal of condition at certain point of time, my suggestion would be to start with the following. These are things most would probably do anyway and all you have to be is bit proactive and not frantically start looking for documents at the end of 2 year.

1. Try to file joint tax

2. Get a valid drivers license or non-drivers ID (Photo ID)

3. If you have health Insurance, try to get your spouse under your insurance. If s/he starts working and has a better insurance coverage, you can be under her insurance :-)

4. Open up a joint bank account. Does not have to keep all your life time savings, but this is something you can do as soon as your spouse receives SSN and Photo ID. But make sure you make some transactions once in a while on this account and not keep it inactive since the day of opening.

5. Attitude.

What I found interesting on one of the PINNED topic is someone mentioned about the attitude. Just by looking at a couple someone can make a guess on the relationship and these interviews are all matter of perception. For a genuine couple, this should be an easy walk with very little documents like the ones above and some pictures.

This is what I believe and would take with myself (I am sure when my time comes, I will try to add more stuff to avoid any questions concerns ;-)
