priority date

Is it necessarily that a person need to flight going to US before the priority date that the USCIS given?

for a K-1 visa ? absolutely not. Priority dates and flying to USA for a K-1 visa chaser have nothing to do with each other.

But a K-1 visa holder MUST enter the USA prior to the expiration date of the K-1 visa, that date printed in the VISA STAMP inside of the passport, printed by US Embassy Manila IV Unit.

if your spouse is a us citizen, please note that priority date is meaningless.

if your spouse is not a us citizen, then priority date it important.

regardless, one cannot fly till the visa is in the passport.

why to think you must fly to usa before getting a visa? i am confused.
