My Passport Made It Back Before I Did!

Had my interview yesterday and was approved. Received email yesterday to say that passport had been collected and when I got home from the airport this am there was a message from Loomis saying it was ready to pick up.

I had joked with my husband that if DHL didn't have their own planes my passport could be on our flight. Never dreamt it flew overnight. And I was very lucky to get a phone call as I wouldn't have checked the tracking just yet.

I had a funny experience when I went to pick up my passport from Loomis/DHL. The woman who helped me said you are really lucky you got me today. When she brought out my package instead of giving it to me she said,, inside this package is another envelope which must not be tampered with in any way, so what we are going to do is open this up - she then opened my package and showed me the do not open envelope - and this we are going to put in another envelope so that it is protected in case the dog wants to eat it or it gets wet. She then put it into another Loomis envelope, sealed it and wrote my name and the date on it. Then she got my passport, showed me the visa and said here's the visa and this is the date you must activate it by.

I had gone into the office with my to do list on which I had written my waybill number and she had taken it from me so when I asked her for my list back she then nicely crossed off Loomis for me!

Since when are they authorized to open your personal mail? So she had access to your passport and then proceeds to act as if she works for the US government and gives tips. I am pretty sure she should not be doing that. I would contact their customer service and contact USCIS...somehow there is something wrong there.

My face must have been a picture coming out of that place. I was stunned. Yes it was nice of her to explain that the "do not open envelope" could not be damaged in any way (some people might not know that) and it was nice of her to put it in a new Loomis plastic envelope, but to open up my passport and show me MY visa was too much.
