Evidence to submit with petition - originals/copies?

Hello again everyone,

Is it correct I have to send photocopies of boarding passes, receipts, etc to USCIS with the initial petition? How has everyone gone about doing this? Photocopying one at a time or doing all of them on one A4? I have about 6 boarding passes from various trips I've taken between London and LAX/LAS. Got all my passport stamps too from many other trips, I just tend to have thrown away boarding passes in the past... I have literally dozens of e-tickets from Virgin Atlantic of the flights I've taken, how do these weigh up as evidence? Do you recommend colour photOcopies of the passport stamps? Other evidence we can get is e-mail receipts from a couple of hotels in San Diego we've stayed at and plenty of Southwest airlines e-tickets (these are not boarding cards though....).

SO basically, I do not send ANYTHING original with original petition? I have my divorce decree too - I just send a photocopy and keep the original for interview stage right?

any help is much appreciated!

Claire

Your petition will be going to a low-fraud consulate. In lieu of this fact, you do not need to overly front-load your application with proofs of valid relationship.

I suggest you submit a moderate amount of evidence with the petition (but be sure to include enough that it conclusively establishes your relationship with your significant other). When you reach the interview phase, that is when you should be prepared and take every last piece of evidence you have that proves your relationship.

You should submit photocopies to USCIS, they do not require originals. When you get to the NVC phase, that is when you need to submit all originals.

I am uncertain if the photocopies need to be certified. To be on the safe side, when I submitted my application I always sent certified copies of everything.

Send in all photocopies, no originals. The only originals to be sent are the signed application form, biographical info forms and letters of intent. Of which you keep copies. Boarding passes are better than e-tickets, as they prove you actually took the flight. We sent both. But "dozens" is overkill, as you only need to prove you met in person once over the preceding 2 year period. More than one can be copied on an A4, just make sure everything looks clear and important info is easy to spot. Use post-its or a highlighter to highlight important info, such as names, dates. Copy all pages of your passport, just to be sure. (Doesn't need to be in color, though.)

She is filing for a K1. I am unaware of a NVC phase for K1's.

We sent evidence, boarding passes, hotel receipts, receipts from money machines where I withdrew funds that showed the location of the machine. I put as many as would fit of a similar type on the same A4 paper. We did not have pictures together, but we sent two of us separately, but clearly at, the same event. At the interview stage I had webcam shots, and they were happy with those.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Once the petition is approved by USCIS, it goes to NVC who then sends it on to the embassy.

Of course it does. But NVC does not examine petitions the way they do for CR1's at the NVC stage. NVC dos not require K1's to send them originals of anything.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I sent in a copy of my boarding passes with their respective passport stamps, labeling them "Trip 1," "Trip 2," etc. I tried to organize things by trips, putting all things from one together and all things from another together. I even put my flight itineraries because for my first flight I didn't keep my boarding passes (I didn't know I was going to be filing the K1), as well as copies of my credit card statements, etc.
