Hello!

I was hoping someone could help me! I just received my NOA2 and have started to complete the next set of paperwork.

On the DS-230 form it asks to list all previous visits to or residence in the United States (if never, write never), give type of visa if known. give DHS 'A' number if any.

I live in Toronto and my fiancee lives in NYC and we've been long distance for about 6 years therefore I have ALOT of visits to the USA during this time. Is it asking for all my visits to the US or just if i've stayed in the USA under a visa?!?!?

Please help as this question isn't so clear!

Thanks!!!

Hey Dubs,

I am in the same situation as you. Mine lives just outside of Buffalo. When I submitted my DS-230, I just attached a supplemental letter with my most current 5 visits and explained that my fiance lives close to the border and that I frequently cross to see him. I am also keeping track of how many more times I am crossing until my interview (which is in 2 weeks) and will include that.

Hope that helps

Moe

It's number 35

Ohhh ok - thanks ;)

Completely oblivious to that since it didn't apply to us....but as one person had posted, I would attach some sort of log listing as many visits as you can remember.

A fellow Canuck here. I was lucky to have my old passports to go back into but I listed as many as possible and stated I could not give the rest as there is no record of the crossing in my passport when I drove across or took one of the ferry's. I believe they have a complete log somewhere of all our crossings. I sure hope so ....

Do the best you can and be prepared to explain more if needed.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

good luck on that keep me posted please?

I filled out the D-260 online, do I still need to submit/bring D-230 at the interview? I read some posts yesterday, apparently Montreal is a bit behind and they'll still ask you for D-230.

My husband and I are also only a couple of hours away, I can't keep track of all the visits. But I'll prepare a list as well.

I don't live anywhere near the US border but I did used to work for an airline, and so i've also racked up around 40 trips to the US over the last 10 years. I haven't had my NOA2 yet but having looked at the DS-230 i started making a chart of my trips on a separate sheet which i'll attach, and plan to write a two sentence explanation for the reason for so many trips at the top, and state that the timings are estimated for trips that weren't taken on my current passport. Hoping this will be okay.

Hi Moe!

Thanks! I guess i'll do the same ..

Also - you're only submitting part 1 of D230 right? and then you bring part 2 with you to the interview?

I can't remember if I just submitted part 1...hmmm will have to check that out when I get home.

They do have a complete log of crossings. I asked one of the customs agents and he told me that I had crossed over 72 times in the last 2 years...that was with my passport....not sure about how many times I have crossed with Nexus though. I asked the same CA if it showed my nexus crossings and he said no.

Well on the Montreal Consulate website (http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/packet3-k1-mtl.pdf)

It gives you all the forms you need to send in for Package 3

As far as i know you need to submit part 1 of 230 as well as submit DS160 online then print off the confirmation receipt

But if someone has already done this and i'm giving incorrect information-pls correct me!!

Make sure that you take your NOA 2 with you to the interview as it has to go with the confirmation of the DS160 form.

OP, if I were you, I would list my every single visit. Each case is individual. While some cases pass under radar, others are heavily scrutinized. You never know which category you are going to fall under. Don't chance it.
