DOES ANYONE EVER FEEL THAT MAYBE WE SHOULD JUST MOVE TO SOME OF THESE EXOTIC LOCATIONS AND FORGET THE USA. AFTER ALL THE TIME AND PAPERS AND THE POSSIBLE NO AND MONEY MAYBE WE SHOULD JUST PACK IT UP MOVE TO OUR SPOUSES COUNTRY AND LIVE A MORE SIMPLE FULFILLING LIFE. MAYBE I AM JUST HAVING A BAD DAY THOUGH? ANY THOUGHTS.

I know the feeling, the thought has definately crossed my mind. But I know in Mexico, it's difficult to find a job, and if you do find a job, it may pay fairly low. Try making about 12 dollars a day for 8 or 9 hours of work.

But I have thought about it, like all of you guys have. I know that if my k1 petition or my fiance's interview is denied, I would definately go down to Mexico and live with him (and then marry and file for a k3 visa).

My husband and I had discussed it and I would go wherever he was but the thought of living in a country where I would be couped up in the house and have to be covered up when going out and not having many rights scared the bejeezus out of me! Basically there wouldn't have been a job for me other then staying home. I like having my rights and I am glad he is here with me now.

every day, my friend....every day.

Ditto here as well.... but then we might live there a few years and after the novelty wears off we might get "happy feet" and want to go somewhere else.....

YMMV

So why don't people move to their partners countries???

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I've stated my reasons before - not to be redundant but we both have good jobs here, we own a condo, and my parents are much older than his and I feel bad leaving them....

we will definitely move there one day.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!
