I think she was talking about Renters Insurance?

No, I didn't mean rental insurance. Home insurance includes property protection (if something would happen to my posessions), liability protection (if someone would demand economic compensation), legal protection (financial help if I need to hire a lawyer), assault cover (compensation for assault), travel insurance (if something were to happen to me or my belongings while traveling.)

Have you extended it or bought a separate one? Cos the normally they are only valid for 45 days abroad..

And no you don't have to show the money in cash...though funnily some people do just that. I told them I never carry much cash, most experienced travelers wouldn't..

I honestly wouldn't know what you can show as ties to Sweden.. since you don't even have a rental apartment. On the other hand before I started reading forums like this I never even KNEW they want you to show ties when going on the VWP. I've never been asked that question and none of my friends either. Just about money and what you're gonna do (and stay with).

If you're really worried, set up some appointments for when you get back, doctor, dentist, a short course or something like that...

I believe the POE in these cases are a factor. POEs in Ireland and Canada get a vast majority of non-US citizens/residents being Irish and Canadian.

The airports in LA, New York, Atlanta, Chicago etc, get a much higher percentage of travelers from all over the world, and in the grand scheme of things, VWP program travelers with no negative immigration history or unusual travel movements aren't their priority in my experience.

Just my two cents.

If that is the case, then it is an incredibly unfair system! And it cost us a lot of money and heartache!

Certainly with Ireland there seems a lot of recommendations for those with issues going from the UK to fly through there so they do not have so far to go back.

I've applied for a couple of courses for next fall, but I won't get the letter of admission until July. Is that a problem do you think?

I'm planning to bring about 1400USD, do you think that is a mor reasonable amount of money to bring?

Does that mean that it's too little to bring?

And is it better to say "friend" than "boyrfriend" is they ask? Is it a lie to say "friend" instead of "boyfriend"?

I said "a friend" last time, because we hadn't met IRL before, and I didn't know if it it would work between us. It's just that I've read that the word "boyfriend" will activate a "red flag"...:/

And, what can I bring to proof I have family ties to Sweden? As I'll be living with my parents next fall.

Pictures of my parents? A letter from my parents that they are aware of my trip and will be expecting me back on the date that is written on my return ticket?

You are overthinking this ++. The more you overthink it the more likely you are to get nervous and get denied entry. You want to bring a family portrait as proof?

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

I just want to be prepared and on the safe side :/

Some people tell me that I shouldn't mention the word "boyfriend" and just say "friend" instead, and that if they ask if he's my boyfriend, I should say "no we're just friends".

So I'm confused.
