here's another one, in missouri:

Woman Forced Into Closet, Finds Gun There

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City police say a woman who had been forced into a closet during a home invasion Monday afternoon shot and killed one of her attackers.

Investigators said two men in their late teens came to the front door of a home in the 5800 block of Garfield Avenue and asked to speak to someone. When the woman who answered the door said the person wasn't home, she said the men forced her into a closet.

Police said the woman had a gun in the closet, came out and confronted the two intruders.

One of the men was shot and made it to the front yard, where he collapsed. The man was taken to a hospital, where he died. Police have not released that man's name.

Witnesses said the second man, who was wearing an orange shirt, ran from the area after the shooting.

Stephania Creath said the woman who fired the shots is her future daughter-in-law.

"Putting myself in her position, I would've reacted the same way because it's two men," she said. "Women aren't stronger than a man. Normally, with a man and a gun you're in fear."

Creath said her son's house had been broken into just a few months ago, which is probably why there was a gun in the closet. She she could only imagine what was going through the woman's mind.

"I'm hysterical. I can feel what she's going through. Two men forcing their way in and putting a gun to your head," she said. "What's next? Are they going to smoke me?"

She said she is hopeful that her future daughter-in-law won't be getting into trouble for defending herself.

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A Kansas City woman says she was forced to shoot and kill an intruder, and police are now looking for a second suspected intruder.

It happened just after 2 p.m. Monday in the 5800 block of Garfield Avenue.

The woman told police there was a knock on her door, and there were two men who were looking for a friend of hers. The woman said she was forced back into the house at gunpoint and into a closet while the men ransacked her house.

What the intruders did not know was that the woman had a gun of her own in that closet. She used it, shooting and killing one of those intruders.

According to police, the woman, who was home alone, shot one of the intruders in self defense. That victim fled the residence and collapsed on the sidewalk. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The woman was not physically injured as a result of the home invasion.

The second suspect, wearing an orange shirt, fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Officers were on guard in the area late Monday night searching for the second suspect in the aftermath of the deadly shooting.

Stephanie Creath's son dates the woman who fired that fatal shot.

"I was very grateful that there was something there to protect herself. I would have done the same thing," Creath said.

Other neighbors feel the same way citing recent spikes in crime and violence in the area.

"That is what you get. If you out doing something you ain't supposed to be doing, that is what happens," neighbor Nykki McCant said.

Missouri doesn't have a Stand Your Ground Law, but it has something similar called the Castle Doctrine.

Missouri's Castle Doctrine Law says anyone can use force, if someone illegally enters, or attempts to illegally enter a dwelling. The term dwelling is used to cover everything from a home, to car, RV's, hotel rooms and even tents.

Kansas has a similar law, stating anyone can use deadly force to prevent unlawful entry or attack upon any dwelling or occupied vehicle.

Anyone with information in regards to the shooting is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.

The Libs are secretly thinking:

She was in the closet, why did she confront them, they were only looking to take material possessions.

Had she called 911, they would have advised her to stay put... do not confront the intruders.

You see, had she cowered in the closet a life would have been spared.

Libs love it when folks are in the closet - not just when intruders are in your home.

Yes, the libs will overlook the danger to the woman and focus on the scumbag that will soon be bait food.

I would think that the orange shirt would be easy to spot.star_smile.gif

Ok, the orange shirt and the trail of diarrhea should lead right to his door.

Can you imagine the terror that clown experienced when his prep friend took one for the team?

If he didn't have an involuntary bowel movement - he probably came close to pissing in his pants.

Wait a car is a dwelling? That seems to conflict with transportation laws.

depends on where you are. In some states, it's an extension of yer dwelling.
