Hey guys,

Just wondering if I can get some guidance on contacting the BKK embassy for status on my case (K1 visa). NVC says they forwarded the case March 30th but my fiance hasn't heard anything from them. I know it's not too abnormal at this point but I would feel more comfortable if I could at least confirm that they have received it. I tried emailing the two address I've found online (visasbkk@state.gov, visasbkk2@state.gov) on the 5th but have not heard anything back from them yet.

The one with the '2' is your best bet. Make sure you put your case number in the subject line. It will be BNK2012xxxxxxx.

You can click on the 'X' to the right to ignore this signature.

This is my redacted email:

subject:K1 Inquiry, BNK<number>, <name> (beneficiary), <name> (sponsor)‏

body:

Hello,

Wanting to check status on a K1 visa

Case: BNK<number>

Beneficiary: <name>

Sponsor: <name>

I assume that is adequate for them? Any experience on how long they take to reply?

Sorry to bump a slightly old post but I am not getting ANY reply at all from the consulate. I've tried both of the email addresses many times now. I've called the phone line as well but it seems to be a wholly automated line. My fiance still has not received any word from them at all (phone / mail). What can I do to get some information on the visa? I'm going crazy!

The embassy was closed 6, 9, 13, 16 of April, so I am sure there has been some back log on answering questions. This time of year with all the Thai holidays they get lots of days off. The past few people I have known to go through the process in BKK has taken between 4 & 6 weeks to get any response after getting NVC sending the info to the embassy, and then another 4 weeks after they sent Packet 3 in to get an interview.

This time of year you also have all the people applying for tourist visas for summer, and next school year, so don't get discouraged they are busy during this time of year.

Since you know it has been sent, download packet 3 and get your medical, police report, etc done.

I was begining to worry myself as well. NVC forwarded my case on April 4th, I emailed Bangkok on the 17th and still no word. I guess I'll continue to be patient. I don't mind waiting, it's just the not knowing part. But at least I know this is normal waiting time for Bangkok.

**Toasty please keep let us know when your fiance gets Packet 3.
