Hello All,

I do have to say that VJ members have been very supportive in my journey. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP!!!!

Couple questions here:

1) Is there a way to find out the exact dates for Oath Ceremonies scheduled (in the State of Michigan for 2012)?

2) My second question is about naturalization (planning the future in advance:):):))! Do I have to order a passpord to travel once I get my naturalization certificate? In other words, can I still travel with my foreign passport and just show my certificate when I return to USA? I know this is kind of a weird question. I had to ask it though, due to a time "crunch" I am in. Planned a trip in advance and now worrying!

Thank you for your help.

Blessings.......

Don't know about your first question but regarding your second: A US citizen must be in possession of a US passport to enter and leave the US. So once you get your certificate, apply for your US passport. Some passport agencies issue same-day passport if you show proof-of-travel in the near future.

Best of luck!

we just asked that same thing today. Oddly enough Alla has enjoyed going to Canada frequently using her green card and today was told she needs a passport, she cannot even go to Canada! The certificate is not a passport. So now, as a citizen, she has temporarily lost her privilege to go to Canada. "I can't go to Montreal? I will die!" We'll get the passports in a week or two. I think she will live.
