I know this has been discussed elsewhere but I'm sorry I couldn't find the thread so I hope this is the right place to post this.

Regarding staples on submitted paperwork....I can understand the USCIS not wanting to remove staples to put paperwork in their preferred order to work with it but surely papers that should stay together like 3 pages of banking statements or tax returns etc should be OK to leave stapled so that they stay together. Yes or no?

Would they refuse or deny an application for stapling such papers which belong together?

Also another question about the photos and this too has been discussed elsewhere but again I can't find the thread - sorry again.

Regarding photos - some instructions say to use a pencil to write your name and # on the back lightly and for reasons explained by someone it so that there aren't heavy imprints made that show through the photos.

I tried to pencil mine and the pencil wouldn't even write on that photo paper so I tried a different pencil then that left a heavy imprint on the photo even though I pressed lightly. Luckily I had extra photos made and ended up sending mine (paper clipped - not stapled to the front page :innocent: ) and I used an ultra fine sharpie felt pen to write on the back of them. No imprint and doesn't show through the photo. I hope this will be acceptable. Yes?

Would they deny such an application solely on these things against someone if they are having a bad day? Really??

we used paper clips for the large batches of papers but had paper clips staples on some like you explained that were meant to be together 2-3 pages. They said nothing about it no RFE or nasty gram from them.

Thank you for your reply Inky,

So you used all paper clips or did you make a typo and mean to write that some of yours were stapled??

Yep meant staples lol.

Ditto to using staples. I used them for the K1, AOS and now ROC. No issues with the first two so I'm pretty sure the third won't be an issue.

Re the photos. I didn't write on the back for AOS and it wasn't a problem (no RFE or interview) but did for ROC (hoping to avoid interview) but I just used a thick sharpie texta (my sharpie pens rubbed off) and I doubt that's an issue.
