3rd week of March I called USCIS and told me to wait for our "Service Request" before April 7. April 5, we received their mail stating that we have to wait at least 60 days for their reply to our RFE. Earlier I called them, and told us to wait 90 days! since we had our service request last mar.30. I don't get it. The moment we call USCIS.. they consider it a service request and move our case longer?... this is driving me insane. It's taking too long.

Can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you..

Hi we were already had our service request and told us to wait for 30days if we still haven't heard anything from them. Although we called again less than the 30th day required to call "again" they told us to wait 90 days until June 30. Is this possible? that if we call, they'll move our case longer? It's really very frustrating on our part. It's like we're starting all over again.

No one is moving you case backwards because you call. But if your case is getting messed up and delayed for some reason, getting your senator or congressman involved can give them a kick in the butt to get working on your case. I've heard of RFE's causing long delays in the past. I'm not sure why some seem to get processed fast and others slow. My wife and I had one and we had our NOA2 within a week of our reply to them. Our petition was in California, which was moving very fast with approvals at the time. But then they had a huge back log sending the approvals to the NVC. It was taking them 30 days so the process could move forward again.

That's why calling USCIS gives us a much more confusion. It has been more than a month already since our RFE was received, I'll try with the Senator thing. But I'll try to wait first after a week, and if it doesn't get into moving, then that's the time i take this matter to a senator/congressman. Thanks for all the advice guys.

Do not panic. Just calm down. Your RFE is under review by USCIS and their "average" review timeframe for this process is a couple months time at least (this is what I gather from my conversations with USCIS during my own process).

Do not pay attention to what the operators tell you. They are really misinformed. As a personal experience I can tell you I called them and was told to wait at least 6 weeks for my RFE....my case was completed 5 days later.

Stay calm and patiently wait for them to review and respond to your RFE. You may involve your senator if you so wish, however, I do not believe he will be able to do much good, if USCIS determines that you are within the "normal" processing timeframe of an RFE.

Good luck.

Thanks. And I also think that the ones i'm calling in USCIS also doesn't know exactly what they are saying, just giving us false information i suppose. I just have to wait patiently and if reaches the 60th day mark, then that's when I have to settle this matter.

They will only allow 1 service request every 30 days

I had 3 service requests on my petition and I got my NOA2 before 4 months

So I do not think service requests slow down the process but 1-2 days

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

PLEASE EDIT YOUR TIMELINE IN YOUR PROFILE SO OTHERS CAN LEARN HOW LONG EACH STEP TAKES IN THIS PROCESS
