I have been in a long distance for almost seven years till I finally united with him last August. It will never be an easy route but I guess having a constant communication will help a lot. Having the assurance that you will make things worth no matter what happen is also a vital element as well. Keep hanging on and keep the faith working. Good luck :)

Absolutely. I'm a workaholic by nature, so that's definitely not a problem for me.

yes we did the skype sleepover thing, emails, messages, phone calls, texts, cards, letters, care packages, visits, home videos...anything that makes you feel more connected. I don't know if you heard about this, but there's this thing you can get where you and your long distance partner both wear a heart monitor at bedtime and then there's a transmitter, that goes into your pillow and you can actually hear your partner's live heart beat through the pillow. It's very cool and something I def would have liked to have. LDR's are one of the hardest things to endure, and even harder is getting used to being together all the time after all the distance if it has been a very long time, not if only a few months I think. Anyway, glad you are coping well. It is not easy. :)

We were on skype, gmail, the internet everyday...even while I was at work (shhhhh). We didn't use video conferencing much because of the nature of his living situation with his family and the time difference.

Took a lot of pictures that we could send each other.

Phonecalls now and then.

Surprise packages in the mail.

Having our own lives (work, going out with friends in our respective countries) and telling/sharing stories of those moments.

...

Lots of hard moments, but worth it in the end :)

I'm not, well, not very well. We used to skype for hours every day but changes in work schedules and a 5 hour time difference have limited it to weekends only. We are both so frustrated and it seems we just fight more and more, about insignificant stuff. I know this is just a temporary phase because of the impatience and the waiting and everything, but it's so hard. Just seeing his face changes my whole mood and I can't do that right now. I swear, the minute we get married I am backing over my blackberry with my car because I am so sick of feeling like our relationship lives there...

He's here in a few weeks so I know everything will be all turned around and happy again...and I figure it would be a lot easier for one of us to walk away than to stay so we must be doing something right. :-) Plus he's really tall so will make it easier to get stuff off the top shelves...

I wish this worked for us! Skype, unfortunately, is only free if your internet data is unlimited. And it's seemingly fairly inexpensive for him to call my phone, but we all know that it's impossible to compare costs by simply applying the exchange rate, so in the end it is prohibitively expensive for him to call for more than a few minutes most of the time.

well..........soon,all of us wont need any more all this, and we gonna have our loveys face to face....i cant wait!good luck for everyone!never forget that true love always win! :)

Two things... Blackberry Messenger and Skype! We swap texts all day long and then skype for 2-3 hours a night when my shifts allow it. Since he is 7 hours behind, I always drive him home from work... again... thank god for skype for making it so cheap to call US mobiles!!

And of course counting days till my next visit. Last time I was there was in February and next visit planned for June 21st!

Completely ramdom, I know... but I am very curious as to how other people do it. For me is a first time. I am madly in love with my boyfriend (soon to be husband) who lives in another country. I never thought I would be the one to do a long distance relationship. NEVER in my wildest dreams I thought I could... but true love takes us to different places, and makes us do things we thought we never could.

It is, without a doubt, the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but we are soooooo worth it. We have our ups and our downs, but most importantly we are always there for each other. I just wonder, how other people do it? how do you deal with the distance? Just curious...

Let me just begin by saying, thank you God for the person that invented majic jack, yahoo, skype, and international minutes...lol. My husband and I talked to each other for over 6 hours this past Sunday, watching movies together, eating our lunch together and we even napped together. We try to make it as natural as possible, trying very hard to make it seem as though we are within arm's length of each other. It's difficult at times but there is solace in knowing there's an end to this process and each day, we are a day closer to being together under the same roof.

Work. Alot. Keeps you busy and serves added documentation for your affidavit of support.

We went for a K-1 and got all the way to the interview stage but canceled to finish school and get work things situated. We waited a few months and got married... now in the CR-1 process. Seems like Groundhog Day everyday!

It's never easy but always worth it. Stay strong, guys.
