Questions on filling out I-864

Hey everyone,

My fiance came over on a K1 visa and we married within the 90 day period. We are now filling out the AOS package to send. I'm a bit confused on filling out the I-864 though.

1. On Question 1 I'm not sure what box to check. Am I the petitioner (Checkbox A) or the "Only joint sponsor" (Checkbox D)?

2. ON Part 2 "Information on the principal immigrant": I know I list my wife now in this section. However on question 10 it says "Enter the total number of immigrants you are sponsoring on this form from Part 3 , Items 8 and 9.

I marked question 8 and the "yes" checkbox below it. So this is just my wife now so I would mark question 10 as "01"?

3. This leads me to the next question on Part 5, Question 21:

It states "DO NOT COUNT ANYONE TWICE". Then asks the number I marked in question 10. I put 01 for my wife.

Under that the "Persons NOT sponsored" is marked as 1, then says to enter "1" if you are married for your spouse.

Do I mark a "1" on this box? If I did that adding them all together would be "Household Size: 3" on question H.

One last question:

Filling out my wifes G-325A for the AOS package after being married, the section that states "This form is submitted in connection with an application for:" Naturalization, Status as permanent resident, or Other. I'm guessing it's "Status as permanent resident" but just wanted to be sure it wasn't "Other" then write in AOS.

I must just be reading this wrong. Can anyone give me any assistance?

I am the petitioner. I filed or am filing for the immigration of my relative.

Since you are sponsoring your wife you leave it as 0. This will make it to a total of 2.

Take another look at the guide forms, you are the petitioner, your wife in the only immigrant, Total size 2, LPR status. The on-line example forms are correct see them. Try and not read too much into this stuff into them.
