Almost 7 months since NOA1 and NO GC

Hello,

I am so frustrated that it's been 6 months and a half and I havent heard anything about my GC. MY case status on USCIS website still shows: INITIAL REVIEW!

I called USCIS several times, and they ask for my local office, which is Dallas. They say they are processing cases from Sep 22nd, but I see this info their website, and it's been there for months!!! That info is not updated, it is impossible for them to work on Sep 22nd fillers, for that long....for months???

And they ask me to call back, when that date changes (Sep 22nd 2011) and when it does and if I dont hear anything about my GC, then I should call back.

???That makes no sense to me.

I dont understand why they ask about my local office, since my case was transferred to California...maybe, even though it was transferred the case still "belongs" to the local office?

This waiting is killing me. And what it frustrates me more, is that people that sent their papers after than I did, had already received their card. I wonder how USCIS works...I would think they work in order cases arrival, but apparently not. They just choose the cases randomly, that's what it looks...

Getting close to 7 months of waiting...frustrating!

local office would only matter if they are waiting to book an interview for your AOS. If the local office is backed up with interviews etc.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Stop looking at the web site. If they had to update every application every time it changed status, they would never get anything done. For some reason your GC is just taking a bit longer. Eat chocolate or have a beer and relax. It will come.

when you call into USCIS call center on Monday,

ask for an ISO, a Tier 2 Human,

then ask the Tier 2 Human IF there are any returned mail pieces on you.

If there are, it may be some notices that you need. Ask the ISO to review yer address again, making sure the address is proper.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I see you have your EAD, so you don't have to worry about being able to work. If you need to leave the country for any reason, just file application for advance parole I-131.

Thank y'all who posted a comment to my post.

I just called USCIS, and of course...they were trying to tell me DALLAS processing time!!! I said that the last notice I received was that my case was in California, not in Texas. Man, it sounds like they dont know what they are saying!

Anyway, I was asking questions, questions about my case, and I think the girl got tired of me or didnt know how to answer my questions, and transferred me to TIER 2- HALLELUJAH! I talked to a very nice officer, and she checked on the computer and told me what I already know, that was my case was in California. I told her, that the other person who I talked was trying to tell me the processing times of Dallas office, and you know what? She said THEY WERE GIVING ME the wrong information!!! She said it WAS A MISTAKE! I knew it!!!!!!

Anyway, she was very nice and said she would check MY CASE on her system specifically! She checked and said...ohhh, if you have waited a few more days, I would be able to open a service request. She said, it was showing there on the system, that my case is supposed to have a decision on the next 8 days! And she said, we just count working days, so call us back friday of the next week in case you havent received anything by then.

Hopefully I will hear something on the next few days, and IF I dont...I will be calling them friday, next week!

Guys that are on the same situation, do the same. Call them and ask, ask and ask.

I heard someone saying that I should not worry since I have the EAD. Yes, I have my EAD and I have a job already. BUT, I want to go back to school, and if the GC I can pay the same fee as a US citizen....so, I really need my GC.

Thank you.

Glad you got some answers! We just went through the same thing but finally did get the green card. EVERY time you call USCIS, ask them to transfer you to tier 2 officer. after they do a service request, they only have a certain amount of time to give some sort of response. I don't know how much this actually helps, but with both AOS and our K1, I contacted my congressman and THEY got me results and answers much faster than USCIS. I don't know if that puts the pressure on, or maybe its coincidence, but with 2 days of talking to my congressman, they approved us. So give that a shot if you want to try to be proactive. you never know. GOOD LUCK!! :)

hey - good on ya for finally getting to a Tier 2 Human, an ISO.

See? it's worth the BS with the CSR, to get to the right Human.

Humans Is Important! The Right One? Even More So !
