If you like jazz, I think you'll enjoy Coltrane and a few others. The blues and jazz were the forerunners to rock. And I'm a classic rock lover.

I don't have much of a jazz collection (yet) but I do have some CD's with Coltrane, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Jeff Brubeck, Herbie Hancock, Max Roach etc etc. I also have a CD by Swedish jazz pianist Jan Johansson. This is probably his most favorite song:
