ATHEIST ACTIVIST WHO THREATENED TO SUE TO STOP TEXAS NATIVITY HAS BECOME A CHRISTIAN

This is one of those stories that seems too good to be true. Last month, we told you about Patrick Greene, an atheist activist who threatened to sue over the presence of a nativity scene in Athens, Texas.

Despite his actions against the religious symbol, Christians came together to raise funds for him and his wife to purchase groceries after he fell ill. Now, as a result of the kind gesture, Greene has reportedly announced that he has become a Christian — and that he wants to enter ministry.

It’s only been two months since the atheist was threatening to wage a legal war against the nativity scene in Henderson County. But something changed over the past 60 days. After residents found out that Greene was suffering from a serious eye condition that could lead to blindness and he was forced to retire, Christians‘ kindness transformed Greene’s worldview.

In the end, they offered him $400 for groceries and other needs (atheists raised additional funds). This simple gift, which was given despite ideological and theological differences, apparently caused Greene to re-think his atheistic inclinations. The Christian Post recaps his transformation from non-belief to an adherence to Jesus Christ:

“There’s been one lingering thought in the back of my head my entire life, and it‘s one thought that I’ve never been able to reconcile, and that is the vast difference between all the animals and us,” Greene told The Christian Post on Tuesday, as he began to explain his recent transformation from atheist to Christian. The theory of evolution didn’t answer his questions, he says, so he just set those questions aside and didn’t think about them anymore.

No actually every religion (including the 38,000 denominations of Christianity) are all theories that all have one thing in common: 0 evidence (as in none, nada, zilch).

Evolution is a fact that has been known for over 150 years and has a stack of evidence that can be piled up for thousands of miles! Biologists and other 'qualified' scientists have been studying it obsessively over the last 150 years and it has been confirmed true in every single case. Millions of opportunities to dismantle the theory and it has never happened. Not once and it never will (because it is a fact).

You should read a book (there are many) on evolution before saying something like what you posted ("it is a THEORY and not a fact")

Remember, we are not scientists and our definition of 'theory' means 'idea or possible explanation'.

In science it means something totally different.

It will always be a theory even though it is an undeniable fact (only denied by really religious or close-minded or ignorant people who have not read about it) because of one thing: there will always be future ongoing observations. You cannot close the case on it because of this. All theory means in science is a mountain of evidence proven correct every single time thus far that explains something...And can be used to accurately make future predictions.

Read that book and it will change the way you understand life on earth.

The Christians blew this one a long time ago. Give it up. All they had to say was "Evolution was created by God to allow his creatures to adapt to changes in his creation, it is PROOF of intelligent design" Instead they fought against it. You still do. Dumb, dumb.

One of the things that reveals religion as phoney more than any other.

#1 - There are many athiests in churches - churches hold a position in communities that other groups/organizations just don't. Some people are looking for friends, some to do good deeds, some to score old church lady cakes and other assorted baked goods. Those athiests just aren't into rocking the boat or truly question 0.1% of the time "maybe there is something out there".

#2 - I'd be curious to see if he's still in the fold 6 months to a year from now.

#3 - The concept of infinite universes [innumerable parallel universes, simply put every action/thing/time point is either an 0 or 1 [on or off] multiplied into themselves] would prove that there is a God if not numerous Gods of every form as well as the ever so popular elephant from the "Fine, prove there is no purple-polka-dotted elephant" argument that a lot of athiests go to when a believer states "well prove there is no God". If you're cool with the far reaches of physics - you need to be cool with the fact that EVERYTHING happens - the question becomes in which universe and can energy bridge distance between those universes.

We are just a tad further than our cousin, the monkey!

If you really want to learn about it then pick up "Why Evolution is True" by Dr. Jerry Coyne. Quick 9 chapters that will cover everything and provide countless examples.

But for you and the 100s of millions, probably billions of people, that believe evolution is "just a theory".. It is sorta like you guys overhearing a group of Chinese people speaking Mandarin, and walking up to them to tell them that they are not speaking correctly, and that they have no idea what they are saying.
