Getting Visa Post-Interview

I spoke to someone once (possibly immigrating from India) who said that instead of having her visa+passport mailed to her, she was able to ask the interviewer if she could pick it up at the consulate the following business day. Apparently that worked out just fine for her, but again, she wasn't going through the process in the UK.

Has anyone in the UK had experience with trying that (or succeeding at that)? Just curious! :whistle:

when I did mine you took it away of the day, now it is sent later.

I remember a couple of people have asked and were told a resounding no. Nobody is admitted into the embassy except for visa appointments. And also visas aren't printed same day. There was one person that the embassy made an exception for because they did something that was an embassy mistake. She had to return to London to fix it and they said they would try to get the visa re-done same day because she had a wedding or deadline of some kind. Don't recall any of their names now to search for posts.

It will not be mailed. It comes by courier and often next day once it is finalized and printed. And depending on if there is a weekend in there.
