Hey all,

I'm guessing the interview threads aren't normally started until the actual month starts... but given that a bunch of us from the NVC thread got interview dates today, I thought we could start a May interview thread. This topic won't be the same without Saylin, but we can try anyway

Awesome! I was wondering whether you got yours too! Mine is May 11.

Congrats Nica :-)

Congrats! What are you thinking about plane tickets? I thought one-way flights would be cheaper, but they're crazy expensive right now! I was really hoping for a non-stop flight so he wouldn't have to go through POE in Chicago or someplace and miss his connection

Normally if you miss a flight due to being stuck in immigration they'll put you on the next available flight. We are doing POE in Dallas, then going on the Kansas City. There's 2.5 hours between the flights and I really hope that's enough!

Return tickets are generally cheaper :-) I'm going to see about doing that and leaving the return portion flexible so I can use it next time I need to return to London.

If you don't need the return portion it's still better to get a return owing to cost- which you can then cancel for a partial refund anyway.. If you find a good enough excuse :-)

My interview date is May 16th.

Flight tickets are no joke especially this time of year

We are planning on moving over the first week of july and since I have my 6 year old son with me plus a baby that will just a little over 2 months my husband gotta come over and get us. Normally when we fly over to Alaska we either have ridiculous lay overs in Chicago or 2 or more stops. This time I wanna do it as easy as possible. And imagine to my suprise, I found a fligt that will take us straight up to Anchorage with just one stop and that is in Frankfurt! Will be well nice to have the POE in our home town. Apparently these flights are only done a few weeks every summer cause they fly over the north pole and can only be done at that period of time. And that route is also super fast, in all with the lay over in frankfurt we'll be in Ak in less than 15 hrs...normally it takes us 22-24 hrs :star:

Why are you bringing along the supplementary documentation? Did the interview letter tell you to do so? If not that really not worth bringing. Those documents is what the nvs has sent to your embassy!

I think it sounds fine with the letter, passport and passport pics and some additional proof of relationship.

I doubt that they will give you issues about that, especially if you bring your interview letter, In that it's stated that the NVC has recieved all the documentation. What you could do though is to check up your embassy to see if they want any additional info that the NVC won't have written in their standard letter.

What I'm gonna do is to send my embassy an email, just to double check what I need to bring. According to my interview letter I only have to bring the letter, passports and my husbands taxes for 2011. It said nothing about no passport pics but everyone keep telling me I need them, but before I go and pay alot of money for that, it's both me and my son, I'm gonna make sure i need it.

Wow that's great! I found an extremely cheap flight ($800 each, normal is around $1200) for my husband and I but we'll have 3 stops between Paraguay and Kansas City and a total of 23 hours. We'll take it for the huge savings!
